In a wide open, pass happy system...Edy could be a dominant rim-runner who finishes easy lobs and put back dunks off the bench.

Even his bad games are impressive.

CBS cbb guy was on NBARadio this morning. When axed about Doncic he had an interesting comp .... Hedo Turkoglu ... yawn.

It scares you but it absolutely, positively pisses me off.

Sorry but Edy is a guy that simply isn't an NBA player but somehow I'm wrong to question the stats/game of Doncic?

That does not compute, Will Robinson. I much prefer to hear someone break his game down and explain how he can succeed in his own right .... and obtw, here are his stats. Unfortunately it's mostly dudes going .... LOOK AT DEES STATS SURELY HE'LL LEBRON-OUT IN THE LEAGUE HOW DARE YOU QUESTION IT!!!!! Nevermind the fact that these other non-NBA dudes are gettin' nimbers over there too. Nuthin' to see there.

Typically, when dudes actually break his game down .. really break his game down, it's much more underwhelming than the stats suggest. Not that I think he'll fail, I just question if he'll be a star.

Well, that's literally why this thread is still going.

Ironically, I was very skeptical of this kid to begin with. (admittedly I had never even heard of him.) But seeing the individual and team success he's had over the past year in dozens of high level games against Euro and NBA players has eased any concerns.

He needs to be surrounded with more athletic wings to protect him. (My NBA ideal running mate for him is Victor Oladipo -- athletic combo guard who demands defensive attention)

But he's a mismatch for defenses and battle proven prospect. If he went on to avg 17/6/6 for his career here (a very reasonable expectation), I'd be more than satisfied.

NOTE: His mid-range shooting, step back jumper and post game are really good for his age. His passing and ball handling are incredible.

Doncic in 2018 plus another young stud in next year's draft and we'll be set for the future.

Solid scouting video of his strengths and weaknesses:

I will not be real upset if the Hawks choose Bagley or Bamba or too upset if they choose Young BUT I really do hope they select Doncic!!! I just really think he is going to be a very special player and a very exciting player for the fans to watch and follow!

I gotta be honest...it's likely more than that and a very appealing option.

Doncic will bring millions of Western European BBall fans and has a good chance of being voted in as a starter into the NBA All Star game.

That kind of exposure has real value for raising the profile of our franchise.

Plus...the kid can ball.

My personal UNEDUCATED order of preference for the Hawks #3 pick is Doncic (Just really like this player!), Bagley, Bamba, Porter and Young. But, After reading a lot of posts I am beginning to think the Hawks will select Young. Will just be glad to get this Draft over with next week!

Come on Hawks, get some balls! and take Doncic at 3! If they don't, this is why this organization has been a treadmill team for the last 50 years.

Tavares is just bigger than everyone else in that league and Real Madrid's offense plays to that strength.

30 teams of front offices and kg think he belongs on a lesser level of ball. You think he doesn't.

Is this a serious question? Have you not seen him "play" against high-level guys? Even if you choose to ignore that, let's look at the evidence before us. Do you not realize every team had a chance to sign him before he ended up at the lesser level where he belongs?

Stop getting enamored by his height. Start paying attention to his inability to move laterally or pretty much do anything other than catch lobs. Also start realizing how few and far between lobs are in NBA play.

Don't make me pick the mic up just to drop it on you again. Bad start this week, @jamally. Step up your game or you won't make it to the end of draft week. You're better than this, sun ... or at least, for our sake, I hope you are. 8-)
