Agreed on all points.
Omari is too fat.

I'm not a good judge of body mass but based on some recent info I'm going to guess Omari is about 7% body fat.

Fixed. That layoff with the hip injury didn't help at all. He was visibly heavier after that.

Heurter already being established starter is the biggest surprise for me given that we have both Baze and Prince.

Hawks are currently 11-26, 12th in EC, last is the SE.

We are 4 games from the midway point of 41 games. The next 4 games we play @Bucks, vs Heat, @Raptors, @Nets.
What will our record be 41 games in?
I predict we go 1 of 4 and end at 12-29.

Next up 12 more games until the trade deadline Feb 7th. 4 home games, 8 roadies, including a 5 game West Coast swing - with most against playoff caliber teams except Suns, Bulls and the Wiz, again.

TP and Baze should be back by mid-January, maybe?

What will our record be at the trade deadline?
I think we win 2 of the 12, if Baze and TP get back sooner rather than later, we'll win an additional 1 maybe 2 games.
My predictions: 15-38

41 Games in.....12-29. Thought?

12 games to the trade deadline.

I predicted 27 on squawk. I’ll stick with that I guess but thinking around 24,25 now.

Ya I’m good with 27.

The Hawks are on pace for 25 wins now, so anywhere between 20-30 wins would still be in play. Hard to tell until we know the results of the trade deadline.

It's interesting that the Hawks beat Philly on the road and almost beat Toronto on the road except for the ill-timed Lin and Bembry TOs and a bad Trae iso against Kawhi.

.500 ball the rest of the way, like their last 24 (12-12) puts the Hawks at 32 wins.

Will we make it a nice even 20 wins by the ASG?

Not sure where to post this but the Holman is set to be on NBARadio at 6:20 today. I'll try to listen and post a recap.

Some positive Hawk press going on today. Gotta savor it while we can.

Recap of the Holman on NBARadio:

- Confirmed he's at 2,556 straight games called.

- On his most memorable moments: Usually centers around Nique. Best game he ever called was game 5 of the '88 Series - Nobody game Hawks any chance and, low and behold, the Hawks won. He got beer poured on him because he was celebrating. Was a great game.

- Has he ever almost missed a game? Several times. Probably was sick a few games but did game anyway. Knows a few doctors in the entertainment biz that could give you a shot in the "you know what" and all of a sudden you feel fine. :o Hey now.

- Atmosphere last night? Was great. As is the case with a lot of cities, Laker jerseys were in the bldg. But, as the night went on, they became Hawks fan again. Have been watching BSPN and all they keep saying is how terrible a loss it was. Folks saying Hawks are terrible.

Thing about the guys criticizing, they wouldn't know John Collins if he ran into them in the elevator. (Tell 'em, Steve!). Point is, they haven't watched the Hawks all year long. Was a good win for our young guys. They're growing, progressing. Fun to watch Trae grow before our eyes. Collins may be the best out of the '17 draft. Even Spellman has played well. Good pieces here. Team being built similar to Warriors. Schlenk was a big part of that and a part of drafting Curry.

People talk about tanking but Schlenk says, if you're not in the bottom 3, so what. If you're not confident in yourself to draft a difference maker wherever you end up, you're in the wrong bidness. (mic drop)

- Attitude around the team/chemistry? Fun team to be around. Fun kids to be around. CJP is only 42, same as Vince, has been around the league for 12 years. Really knows about young players, how to develop them, treat them. Has been terrific. They all have great attitudes, like to laugh, have fun.

- What should we know about Collins that we don't already? Terrific kid, parents both military. Took time to get to know people in the organization, got to know what they do. Shows he cares about folks in the organization. Not full of himself. That's a characteristic he sees in all the greats. Collins also works well with Trae.

Obtw on Trae, I (Steve) hear all the Doncic stuff .. why did they trade Doncic .. well, Hawks will have two terrific picks and our people thought Trae would have a very high ceiling and he's got that 'it' factor. Kids love him, adults love him. Will bring folks into the arena.

- Any one guy that sticks out as an amazing guy like he says Collins is? Nique is the best example of that. Nicest star he's ever been around. Can always tell who's gonna make it and who's not by that (how well they treat people). Some guys never take the time to find out who does what .. those are the ones who won't make it.

- Opponent who's games he loved to call? Many have been very friendly. Jordan was nice to his son as a ballboy. Ewing has been one of the greatest guys. Drexler, Bird ... one of the best things about the league is they're usually pretty good guys.

- Pick up anything from Johnny Most in Boston - Was a Selltics fan as a kid :o Kept score for Johnny Most who lost his voice in '76. Steve had to call the game. Eventually got hired by Kurt Gowdy(sp?) - his first full-time job.
