I know the Red Mamba is a fan favorite, and he is my favorite too, but his stock is the highest it has ever been. Now might be the right time to trade Huerter, especially the way Cam has played in his last 4 games in the playoffs

It all depend on what kind of contract he's worth, and it will depend on what John get if he stays. Trae's contract won't set anything, it will be the Max, but the next player not deserving the Max but still a good contract will set the rest of them.
If you want to win the title, I'm not sure you can loose Huerter. We all saw that the biggest problem to not go further was not having all of our wings available during the playoffs.
I bet that if we had Hunter and Reddish ready to play in the whole playoffs, so series would have been shorter, like Vs PHI even with Green in and Embiid not playing injured.
Pretty sure that MIL series, even with Giannis and DiVincenzo in, would have gone to Game7 and a real chance to reach the Finals.
And I was not considering the fact that a season with some small injuries only and McMillan as head coach since the beginnning would have give ATL at least home court advantage in the first round, if not in the second round too...

If they can't pay all of them, the only solution will be to trade one or two of the young guy, but it should be for pick to get still continue to get young players under rookie contract, unless you find a vet with same kind of production and costing less than the potential future contract of Huerter.

^ If Moses Moody falls to the late lottery, maybe Huerter and #20 to jump up 5-10 spots would be the trade to take.

Hornets, Spurs, Pacers or Warriors might be open to a trade.

J Collins has a new deal. Trae has a new deal.

Any word re: extension talks with Huerter’s people?

Per Schlenk:
The team has talked with Kevin Huerter’s representation about his rookie extension. Schlenk said the plan is to have deeper conversations beginning next week because Huerter’s agent wanted to get his free agents signed on deals first. Schlenk said the Hawks’ intention is to try to sign Huerter to an extension before the season begins.

Kevin Huerter needs a new agent.
Not a big deal.
Kevin is not currently a FA.
Free Agent money dries up quickly.
Kevin's extension or not won't affect the Hawks capspace this season.
Discussions with Collins last year on an early extension occurred after the FA frenzy, it went right down to before the season started.

^If your agent puts other players ahead of you...you need to get a new agent.

I can't imagine an agent telling a client, "Once my other, higher priority clients are taken care of, then I'll address your future."

UnbelievaBLE.

Wait, a minute - you don't think agents have priority lists of their clients.

I think that if an agent tells you specifically that your next multi million dollar contract is less important than someone else's, you need to find a new agent.

That's not real life.

Trae Young, John Collins, Lou Williams and Gorgui Dieng all have new contracts or extensions with Atlanta while Kevin's agent waited to complete other player's deals first.

That
is
ridiculous.

Last year
Gallo, Rondo, Dunn, Bogi................then Collins. Mmmm, I wonder what Collins' agent was doing during the first days of FAcy, dealing with his UFAs first i suppose.
Mountains out of Mole Hills - stop making 'em.

I agree it's ridiculous on the fact that it's said, but it's possible that Kevin was OK with that, instead of him rushing all his client and making bad negotiation.
Now, we need to keep in mind that Kevin is not UFA nor RFA. Is not a free agent at all
