Trae

With Edey off the bench :D

You're not wrong. But if you're looking for the antidote for the Minnesotas/Denvers of the world -- it's high powered, high scoring, fast-paced, small ball with a rim protector clogging the lane.

Trying to copy their blueprint will be difficult. Exploiting their weaknesses is a better option.

NOTE: Quin Snyder is a better coach than Erik Spoelstra.

I'm not mad at a BI fit with the current construct sans DJ ofc. Duck was probably the last elite wing this team has had in the past 20 years. BI is obviously better than him, so the Hawks can go bpa in the draft.

JJ and BI can switch at both forward spots depending on matchups and both compliment OO nicely due to their length.

I still believe that the model we're most (and best) modeled after, is Golden State.

Trae as Steph-lite is the obvious comp.
But Jalen Johnson as a more-talented-Draymond is also pretty spot on.

I'd love to see us model the rest of the roster on what worked for them in that 73 win season.
  • 3&D Wings (Klay and Barnes),
  • oversized backup PG (Livingston),
  • do it all power wing (Iggy) off the bench.

It won't be long for us to see if we can take this ownership and front office serious. I look forward to the off season wvennif it will be a frustrating one. I need something to happen to make me feel more confident in this team next season.

Rumor is DJ and CC for BI, Dyson and #21....NOP doesn't want CC, wants OO...Hawks would want the LAL 2025 unprotected 1st included if subbing OO for CC....TIFWIW.

Neither one if those trades is that good for Atlanta.

This isn't even Plan B, this is Plan F.....we'll be right back in the lottery next year watching SAS get our 2025 pick.

Yeah, I'm not even a big Trae fan, and even I think this lottery luck completely changes the plans.

Trade DJM and one of the bigs for wings. Then you see what you've got. If it doesn't work out, you trade TY one year from now.

I mean, unless we send Dejounte back to SAS and ask for the 2025 draft pick in return.

Isn't it more likely that Spurs offer pick #8 in this draft? Our their own pick?
I just don't believe in the whole pick back thing happening.

:dontknow:

It all depends on how much they want one of our PGs to lead Wemby.

This plan is impossible, if ATL can't make the playoffs next season, they would give a lottery pick to SAS, and if they can't in 2026, SAS would swap their pick and get another one good pick instead of their own pick, and again getting another pick from ATL in 2027

It would almost look like ATL traded 3 first round picks, without even including the CHA's pick. Now, this one may never be a first round pick for SAS because if CHA is in the lottery again next season, SAS will in the end receive CHA 2nd round pick in 2026+2027

Regarding the value of Murray, I would not trade for less than 2 picks, for a simple reason: he's still young, and is in a better contract situation than when we traded for him. He cost more now, but less than a lot would have thought at first, including SAS (they certainly thought that he would ask for the Max).

If it's not with SAS, go find another team, but he's worth at least 2 protected first round picks.

T&T board got ugly quick. KD for 1st overall and Murray included?! Jimmy Butler?! Lauri was about the closest deal I would've considered only if we got #10 back from Utah also.

Lauri's contract status is concerning even with getting back #10.
Hawks need defense more than offense.

I'm a Bogdan fan, but maybe the Hawks should look into trading Bogdan and Hunter for some low 1st round picks or 2nd round picks and lets get Kobe into the rotation.
