If Bogdan has a salary at his current numbers, I'm fine keeping him. We must build some form of a culture that we value certain players and Bogdan fits that role. Loyalty has more value than some people realize, since he represents us in the world, and for me that's huge.Geaux_Hawks wrote:HMFFL wrote:He is having the worst season of his career. I think it would be foolish not to trade him considering his inconsistency and health issues. He's too streaky for what we currently have, and with Hunter's remodeling into a 6th man, Bogi's impact isn't what it once was. I think we're well past the point of thinking that Bogi can't be let go. We've got to continue building more around Trae.
2027-28 Free Agent. At this point, he will have been a Hawk for 7 seasons. Next season will be the time to move him, not now.
I don't mind keeping him for international reasons.Â

That's the kicker here. He's 32, and will be heading into his age 33 season next season, yet he's having his worst season of his career. He's not over the hill, but he's a luxury even with his team friendly deal. At least when Landry is talking about staying under the tax.
That could be the difference in making a move for a true upgrade and us making a lateral move. I just don't see enough of a resurgence in his value to suggest we need to be holding onto him when Mathews can provide similar production in a vacuum.
The direction we're headed right now suggests that Bogi needs to go just as much as Clint.

I'm hearing that Bog isn't happy with the team's progress, wants to win

Now, that it appears to be official, we can move forward, and continue our ways of being one of the worst ran teams in the league.

I guess something like this for the rest of this season
Trae / Bones / Wallace
Dyson / Mann / Vit / Gary
Ris / LeVert
Niang / Barlow / Mo
OO / CC / Nance

Since drafting Trae....it's been a problem that has not been adequately addressed.

I think it speaks volume to how much Trae does for this team. Underrated factor for us in 20-21 was not only having a deep bench, but having guys like Gallo and Lou come off the bench. Lou was a vet ball handler, and Gallo could torch on any given night. That team also featured a DPOY candidate in Clint. At this juncture, I think we're only missing the length in the middle to impact games and a Lou Williams type of backup. I do like OO, but I don't see him as a rim protector, but more so a good, versatile defender to have.

I agree...with most of this.
I am looking forward to having athletic young front court of Okongwu/Jalen/Risacher starting side by side next year...with veterans backing each of them up.
Nance, Niang aren't perfect fits off the bench together, but they seem capable of serving in complementary roles.
We do need a tall, big bodied Center off the bench though. (Goga Bitadze, perhaps.

Yeah I really don't want to see Niang and Nance on the frontline together. It's one or the other.
