None..... its either Josh or cap space!

I was perplexed that some on our nets board thought Humphries was a plus for atl

The best I could come up with is something like

Hawks in: Tyshswn Taylor, Marshon brooks, Andray Blatche, diop(expiring), nets 1st, two bobcats 2nd rounders
Nets in: smith, Ty Thomas, bench filler from atl and cha
Bobcats in: humphries

Atlanta is willing to trade Josh Smith for Hawes and Turner but Philly didn't want a rental

Philly wants a stretch big to pair with Bynum but needs a centre if Hawes is traded because of Bynum's fragility.

I think this works for all three teams.
Does this work from Atlanta's perspective or is John Jenkins really that valuable to the team?

Atl out: Smith + John Jenkins
Atl in: Hawes + Turner

Phi out: Hawes + Turner
Phi in: Bargs + Aaron Gray + John Jenkins + Sac 2014 2nd

Tor out: Bargs + Aaron Gray + Sac 2014 2nd
Tor in: Smith

I personally think that the "report" that the Hawks offered Smith for Hawes and Evans is a BIT silly. Trading Smith in conference for such a underwhelming package that will take up about 14 million in capspace next season so they wouldn't have to give Josh 18 seems incredibly unrealistic.

If does make some sense in that Hawes and Turner would fill out a full lineup and the pieces would fit nicely.

PG- Teague
SG- Jenkins
SF- Turner
PF- Horford
C- Hawes

We get considerably worse and have less cap room.

That's not a "nice" fit.

Bargnani and Aaron Gray would be a better haul.

Had to go back a page to make sure that I typed in English.

I am talking about that trade is so horrible that the horrible trade of Bargani and Gray would be better since we would have more talent with our loss of cap space than turner and Hawes.

Since Ferry doesn't talk to the media (not even the sad AJC reporters) about trades, it's safe to assume that all "reports" are from the other teams' point of view. I try to remember that when the press starts talking about what's in our minds. All they have is conjecture from other teams.

The Pheonix trade possibility is apparently not true according to their radio source who seems to be on the mark. I still suspect a Minnesota-Atlanta-L.A. deal being discussed right now. A deal seems possible considering that Minnesota wants veteran players for draft picks (Gasol being a favorite of Kahn), Atlanta wants picks, and the Lakers want Smith.

I agree. If the Hawks had really made such an offer, PHI would have jumped to take it. I went over to the 6ers board to see their thoughts. At least half were mad that their management "rejected" the trade. They thought it would have been a great thing for them.

This sounds like another creation of a reporter (or agent) with no ties to the Hawks.

Positional swap all around (1 PF, 1 SG). Atlanta and Orlando both trade their attractive soon-to-be-FA pieces to a playoff team with a chance to resign them. Milwaukee gets perhaps the two most desirable players in the deal. Atlanta gets a scoring replacement (Ellis) and positional replacement (Davis) for Smith. Orlando gets young players and a draft pick.

Bucks fan I assume?

Every team gets worse except Milwalkee. The Hawks don't get to move Horford to the 4 which everyone here loves, get CONSIDERABLY worse at the 4, give up their best young player for a rental in Monta Ellis and the Buvks make the playoffs with that squad making the draft pick mid to late first round....

yeah...no.

I'm waiting for somebody to throw in a draft pick, but so far, everything has been way below Josh's value. it's easily better to just try to resign Josh or take the cap space.

Houston just gave away Morris, Aldrich, Douglas and Patterson.... Geeez. Wish we would have worked something out there. Can't believe that Marcus Morris was to be had for a future 2nd rounder.

Maybe Morey is trying to flip Thomas Robinson to Atlanta for Josh Smith enticing Dwight Howard to pair up with him in Houston?

Our (Suns) Media is reporting that we dont want Smith at all. But there has been rumors that we have been in some talks with Atlanta, so im wondering if we (Suns) will be used as a 3rd team, with Smith going somewhere else and us giving up Gortat & Dudley to you guys. No Morris's involved, we have always liked the idea of reuniting the Bash Bros. Marcus at SF and 'Keef at PF. But us being the 3rd team seems like the most plausible explanation to me.

Not at all sure what Atlanta has planned for this offseason but I do know that y'all are poised to have a lot of capspace and almost an empty roster.

Would Bargnani for one of your late first rounders interest you?

It's no secret that Ferry is going to go after Dwight this off season and it is pretty obvious that he is using Josh as bait. Whether it works or not, who knows, but it's Ferry's decision what and who, he offers max too.

Anyway, best case scenario is there. "safety school" or fall back is keeping Horford and Teague and over paying Al Jefferson, Millsap, or Pekovic.

So, no thanks to Bargnani. he is a quality guy, but i don't see him being better than Jefferson, Pek, or Kaman.
