Eh.. I don't think JC is as good as this board thinks he is. He's definitely good, but I think Trae makes him look better than he is. Fact is, he's gone after this year when some team gives him 4yr/110M. We won't match and we shouldn't match. Nance can hit shots and be a rim-runner too, plus he plays defense. Bruno is a negative, so McGee is an easy upgrade there.

Okongwu is going to be the backup C taking Bruno’s mins now that he’s healthy.

So far Collins has been one of the most productive two way bigs (yes even his defense) in the nba.....Trae helps everyone with his passing but the “trae makes him look better than he is” narrative has been debunked many times (he actually scores more & still on elite efficiency w/o Trae)....think hawks should absolutely match 4/110 unless they want to take a big step back.

The key is matching the contract to keep and or flip him but retain assets. I wouldn’t necessarily say we would be taking a huge step back not to retain Collins as much as his contract as an asset in hand.

That’s all fair. I just think if we don’t trade him before the deadline there will be a team that comes in with a great offer and some sort of trade clause (al a Bogdanovich) that we won’t match.

Also, disclaimer, I actually really like Nance’s game and have long thought he’d pair well with Trae.

I would be surprised if JC doesn't get the max 4/130 offer from a team (Dallas).... Anything else Hawks are definitely matching.... If Hawks aren't willing to pay that number they need to trade him during season

What are thoughts and trading JC, FRP, and maybe Gallo for Beal?

Maybe Bogdan and JC for Beal?

Not really a huge Beal Trae backcourt fan but he's a huge upgrade

I don't like either scenario. JC and Gallo for Beal. We'd have no big man depth.

Saw this trade and I actually like it. We get something for Collins and we might even get a little bit better since McGee would be taking Bruno's minutes. I think it also makes sense for Cleveland because they get the best player in the deal and they have a bit of a logjam at center right now.

Nance+McGee > Collins+Bruno

Thoughts?

I think this is a joke and you should self ban for 2 days as punishment just for making me read this while I'm eating breakfast. You sir ruined my cheerios!

Sad to say I’m losing the attachment I had to Cam. I don’t get that same rage when I see him in proposed trade packages.

Clean your mouth and never show this to King Ken.

Every time you feel that way think of his perimeter defense. There are a lot of trash offensive stat guys who suck at D. We are lucky.

Exploring a John Collins trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Atlanta Hawks should make a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers

While the Cleveland Cavaliers have just added to their playing stock with the addition of Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince, this has them with an out of balance roster. They have Andre Drummond, Allen, Kevin Love, Larry Nance Jr, JaVale McGee, and Thon Maker who can all play the five. Here is how the trade should look.

Collins and filler for Siakam sounds solid. But Pascal's salary is difficult to swallow.

Ben Simmons is still the ideal trade target. He is the ideal big man to play alongside Trae, IMO.

Every NBA Team's 2021 Trade Deadline Target List

Atlanta Hawks

  • Ben Simmons
  • Bradley Beal
  • Pascal Siakam

The Hawks are one of the few teams that should be capable of making a big splash at the trade deadline.
A mixture of recently signed win-now vets and a growing young core, Atlanta should be a playoff team without making any roster-altering trades. If the Hawks want to become one of the East's best this season, they'll likely need to cash in some of their young players for a proven star.

John Collins, Cam Reddish, De'Andre Hunter and Kevin Huerter are all terrific trade bait if the Hawks want to swing for the fences for Simmons or Beal. Either would join Trae Young to form one of the NBA's best backcourts.

Siakam could come at a discount, an All-Star starter last year whose numbers are dipping for a slumping Toronto Raptors team.
With the Hawks and Collins unable to come to an agreement on an extension before the season, bringing in Siakam could be the long-term answer, given the 26-year-old is under contract until 2024.

This is BR target for each team... ours is Siakam, Beal and Simmons.

Ben Simmons
Bradley Beal
Pascal Siakam

Which 3/4 players would you trade if you had to get rid of 3 to get a Beal or Simmons? If you had to do a deal like this....?

John Collins, Cam Reddish, De'Andre Hunter and Kevin Huerter are all terrific trade bait if the Hawks want to swing for the fences for Simmons or Beal. Either would join Trae Young to form one of the NBA's best backcourts.

Problem is I love our guys.. I don’t even want to part with Huerter. Not Cam and Hunter is now proving to be a stud for sure.

This season is more questions than answers for Cam. What's his ceiling? 3D or PG? The PG comp beginning to seem out of line. On the other hand trading Cam now is when stock is low.

Huerter is nice but replaceable.

If you're building a team around Trae you need a second best player who's a very good defender....I can get on board with Siakam... Talk about buying when stock is low!
