Cam Johnson and a 2nd? Which Phoenix beat writer came up with this stink. It stinks. It stinks bad.

Not as bad as a proposal I saw that I won’t even put here. Guy from Boston said Trae, Collins and Hunter for Kemba and a pick. I was like ummmmmm.

I wouldn't include Hunter, but throwing Huerter in instead...and asking for Rui and Troy Brown, Jr.

:dontknow:

Best Trade Packages For Bradley Beal

Image

Atlanta Hawks Receive: Bradley Beal

Washington Wizards Receive: John Collins, Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter, Tony Snell, 2 future first-round picks, 2 future second-round picks

The Atlanta Hawks could elect to pair a top-three shooting guard in the league with Trae Young by trading for Bradley Beal. While the defense on that Atlanta Hawks team would be questionable, the offensive firepower would be worth the risk. Having Bradley Beal, Trae Young, and Clint Capela on the roster would be a good start to building a contender. With John Collins being up for a new contract, it could make sense to center a package around him in order to get a bonafide superstar. Bradley Beal would give the Atlanta Hawks another top-tier perimeter creator who can get his own shot.

This package would be great for the Washington Wizards: they would get a few young players and some picks which automatically helps build their core for the future. That is quite a haul for their superstar. Cam Reddish and De’Andre Hunter are both wings with potential, and De’Andre Hunter currently looks like he has taken a leap, averaging 17.9 PPG while shooting 37.5% from 3PT range. Tony Snell’s contract would be there for salary matching. John Collins would be the main attraction of this deal as he averaged 21.6 PPG and 10.1 RPG during the 2019-20 season. While his numbers have dropped during the 2020-21 season, he could still be elite in a bigger role with the Wizards.

I’ll say it now. I do NOT want to be trading for Beal of KAT. We have a lovely young team.

That trade would be a disaster. That kind of package is for a top 10 player.... Or to make your team a contender immediately

Just posted this on the trades board. One of the few trades I would do for JC.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y537hhtm

Hawks in : OG Anunoby

Raptors in: John Collins

Why for Atlanta: Unites OG with his brother Onyeka to form one of the fiercest defensive front courts the NBA has ever seen in its entire history... ok fine it solidifies the Hawks front court defensive while they lose some offense. Takes care of the JC contract issue.

Why for the Raptors: Gives them more offense and it pairs Collins with Siakam in their front court to give them more balance up front. He could work better than OG does with Pascal, might be the shakeup they need to get back.

Hawks lineup of the future:

Trae
Cam
Hunter
OG
Okongwu

I wanted OG badly in the 2017 draft. I’ve been very happy with JC no doubt but if we HAD TO, I prefer a quality guy like OG than some fluff like Blake Griffin or some knucklehead stat guy. OG impacts winning and would be the African brother to Onyeka!

Thoughts? Buzz? Bueller? Anyone?

Celtics fan here. Plenty of Celtics fans would want us to go after John Collins. My binkie is De'Andre Hunter. Would you guys trade Hunter + Dunn for Marcus Smart + ? ? ? (<-- you name it)? All our players would be on the table exluding Tatum and Brown.

It seems like the Hawks need to pair Young with an elite perimeter defender. Reddish may be that guy, but his game is a work in progress. Smart can switch 1 through 4 on defense. I've even watched him play amazing D against some 5s. I would argue he's the second most versatile/switchable guard defender in the NBA behind only Ben Simmons (who ain't exactly a guard to begin with).

You guys know a lot more about Hunter's game than I do. A few honest questions on my part:

- Can he consistently create his own shot?
- Can he consistently create shots for his teammates?
- Is he a reliable ball handler?
- Is he more of a team defender or on-ball defender?

Thank you in advance!

Hunter’s progress this season on defense and his surprising leap on offense (handling the ball, and especially creating his own shot) makes it less likely that he will be available in trade (unless it's for a big name star). He has been our most consistent player (some are even saying he has been our best player) so far this season and is becoming a credible threat to score on all levels: from 3, the midrange and at the rim. He seems to always make the right play. He is really good as an on ball defender, even good enough to guard PGs. His size and versatility at SF is exactly what this team needs so that would be a no on a Marcus Smart trade.
You can catch up on his exploits so far this season:

All of our Free Agents we signed this past offseason are now eligible for trade starting today.

If you had to trade ONE player from the list of FAs, who would it be?

Gallinari, Bogdan, Rondo, Dunn, Hill.

I am watching the Bulls vs. Magic..... man Zach Lavine can flat out ball. I still want to pair him with Trae Young
December of 2019 “Trae Young Involved in 'Emotional' Locker Room Scene After Hawks Loss. Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young is unsurprisingly getting tired of the team's struggles.”

From that list Rondo has played the worst, but I don't think I would get rid of him. Really just his shooting has been bad and with the weapons we have we really shouldn't need him to shoot more than a couple times per game.

Marcus Smart and the Hawks don't exactly have the best history.
In 2019 he barked at Trae and him and Bembry exchanged words. He got ejected and then tried to fight Bembry after charging him and the rest of the hawks team.
In 2020, at the end of the game, he went out of his way to look down and then step on Trae and then tried to fight Alex Len.

He is the Dellavedova to this version of the Hawks.

I know it’s a dead horse that I keep beating.... but I can just see the hawks being unstoppable offensively with Lavine and Trae.

I couldn't decide which young, defensive guard I wanted more this past summer: Kris Dunn or DeAnthony Melton.

We got Dunn on an amazing deal. But D Melton has been brilliant for Memphis and is on a manageable (and tradeable) contract too.

Also, I never thought we had a shot at Bogdan Bogdan, so I was pretty intent on signing Alec Burks as backup SG. That would have been more helpful at this point, considering how little production we got from BB before his injury.

Ayo shakes, don't tell my guy myrak but ... Lavine is ballin.
Hes taken a step, I must admit.

Just don't tell myrak I said it ... wait ... I quoted him? Abort post, abort post!

Just kidding. Still not sure about pairing him with Trae, but Lavine has gotten better in general.

I think you're greatly underestimating John Collins' trade value. He's a borderline All Star entering his prime.

Bertans is a 28 year old role player avg 10 points a game off the bench.

We can get more value than that...even if we need to wait a year or two to cash in.

Am I missing anyone? Just our luck, at the moment we need to flip somebody to further our progress and keep our flexibility and make a deal, there’s nobody to make a deal with.

Pascal could be a solid signing, turning us into a dominant defensive squad.

Another option: John Collins, Tony Snell and Kevin Huerter for CJ McCollum and a draft pick.
