Top 59 protect it. The pick doesn't matter.

Sorry, asking a 2nd rounder for Bogut did not compute, so I figured you must have meant we'd be able to offer the 2nd overall pick.

You're arguing the savings is worth dumping him. I don't agree but I get it now.

Yeah... I wouldnt come over here to troll :D

Its mainly because a TPE is so much more valuable to the Lakers than Bogut's contract, or any expiring contract. Based on the tax in the new CBA, sending Bogut to you or CLE saves them anywhere between 36m and 49m dollars, depending on whether or not they'd amnesty Metta World Peace.

Bogut's value is well higher than shedding for a TPE, but in the event Dwight wants to come here, we have to sell our value a little short to make it happen. I'm good with that.

Of course now that I've had more time to think I'd be asking you guys to take on RJ or Biedrins and add in a player you'd be trying to shed, or a small S&T attached (Pachulia? Korver?)

There's a lot of options to play with. We could try and get Lakers to take Biedrins instead, which would fix a lot of our problems as well. There's still a lot that can happen, and I truly feel that in terms of a basketball decision, GSW is the best fit for Dwight as currently is. 2 great shooters and a perimeter oriented big.

Any interest in Millsap? I know ATL would prefer a center, but Millsap might work well with Horford since he is athletic, can rebound and defend 4's, and has a post game

At this juncture, no. It looks like our goal is to get Horford moved over to PF and build up a solid 5 rotation. We even have a young PF or 2 that we wouldn't mind giving backup minutes to. I like Millsap as a player and if I felt I needed a FT PF, then he'd be really high on my list.

If we're left in the cold with some $$ to spend once the talent starts drying up, then things could change though.

In that case would ATL be interested in Al Jefferson? He would is currently the best low post player in the game. You Front court would be monsters on the glass and points in the paint.

Who?
Mike Scott showed some flashes and would definitely be 1 guy. Our two C prospects (Nogueira, if he comes over this season, and Muscala) could see initial minutes at PF until their bodies become a little more NBA ready.

The thing here is that if we're as serious as it appears about moving Horford out of the 5, then minutes will be pretty limited at 4. Even if looking at spotting Horford 1Q at C to keep him up to speed there (w/ 2 @ PF), then there's only 24 minutes to spread around to backup 4's. At the price Millsap could (and possibly should) command, I can't see him as a 2Q per game guy.

Responded to you on the T&T board. Repost:
I'm personally blase on him, but there are many ATL fans who are higher on him than me. My own belief is twofold. One the one hand, if we're losing Smith then our interior presence is greatly diminshed, and Jefferson isn't the rim protecting C that we'll need to replace that. On the other, is Jefferson a guy we could build a championship around? I can't think so - he seems more like a last piece type guy. Would it be worth blowing our load on him now instead of attempting to continue to parlay that cash to the point where we can get that guy with it? I can't think it is.

I'm behind it. Asik is a great fit next to Horford and he gets to go back to the 4. Smith isnt going to take the team anywhere.

Would be nice if the Hawks can get Terrence Jones and Asik for Josh Smith.

won't get a pick, going to guess we'd over pay for ATL not to match.

There is really no reason that Milwaukee would to a sign and trade. They could just throw a huge offer at him and hope he signs and Atlanta doesn't match.

Mil has extra PFs. Would like to send one to the Hawks to clear some cap space for guards and a sf.
Any interest in Udoh, Mbah a Moute, or Ayon?

Atlanta doesn't need any pfs with Millsap and Horford already here.

Any team that signs Monta needs a lot of PF's to rebound his missed shots
