Point guard Need Apply

Post#1 » by geeman » Mon May 10, 2010 7:46 pm

After I had time to cool off and really think about this year I’ve come to certain opinion. Woody is not really to main issue, Hell Joe is not ether (although I think that ship has passed) we really don’t need a new starting Center although I like the Ideal of maybe bring in an Eddy Curry (he should be motivated it being a contract year. I believe our main objective is to get a frontline Point guard.
1) If the net get the first pick we should go hard after Devin Harris
2) Sign a MLE 2 or 3 year offer for Shan Livingston ( really look good at the end of the year)
3) Try to trade for ether J Jack or Luke Ridnour to add in the mix with Jeff Teague

Guys what other point Guard that could be avilable that could help us?

It's a dream to think that a new PG, even if better, will avoid Woodson to play the ISO Joe or Crawford.
New PG or not, Woodson has to go. And I am cool when I say that ;)

Would you do Barbosa for Evans straight up? Not really a PG but can provide offense off the bench if Crawford starts next year...

I'd love to see us go after Livingston. He showed a lot at the end of the year for the Wizards. Not sure if he's the floor general type, but he can do a lot. Also not really a shooter which is probably a big issue that will keep his price down. Harris would be sweet too. I'm just not sure if we will be able to nab him.

I'm not sure if Calderon would be a good fit for this team....but Bibby isn't better than him at anything.

Bulls fan here. The perfect point for you guys is...................yup Kirk Hinrich. He is playing out of position on the Bulls. He needs a change of scenery and Atl would be the place. At least you will have a true point.I dont know what it would take or if you guys would even want him.

Javaris Crittenton? or Roger Mason?..... how about sign and trade Joe for Billups -> Lawson/Joe/Melo, Billups/Crawford. or sign and trade Joe for Ben Gordon -> Crawford/Gordon

If you guys bid heavily on Joe I would gladly do a sign and trade involving Hinrich and another player (Gibson or Johnson) for Joe so that you would have the cap room to also pursue a post scoring PF.

If Coach Woodson is back next year anyone who is capable of bring the ball past halfcourt and doesn't turn the ball over can run the point. A true point guard is useless in his system.

Mike Bibby to Philly for Louis Williams. Philly does this if they want a veteran point guard and if they want to be relieved of the three years left on Williams contract.

Joe Johnson S&T to the Clippers for Eric Gordon and Minnesota's first round pick (top-10 protected through 2011, unprotected 2012). This can become a reality depending on the interest for Joe and if LA is an option for him. I'd even be open to including a future first that is protected top 20 if it's needed.

I like Calderon. We're so talented at each position that a pure PG who got the ball to the right guy, instead of our present idea of forcing shots, would be perfect.

What would you offer for Calderon? Is pachulia a contract you want rid of? Marvin Williams for Calderon? Bibby + Evans +#24 for Calderon + 2nd rounder + Cash??

What's your offer. Any of those interest you?

that is a huge overestimation of Bibby...... before Iverson came back, Louis Williams was putting up all star numbers

What do you consider All-Star numbers because Louis Williams only had 2 double-doubles and zero triple doubles. He had a streak of 20 or more points during only three games.

If Philadelphia wants to save money and are wanting a veteran point guard they do the trade. I rounded the numbers but Mike Bibby is owed $11.5 million and Louis Williams $18 million.

We'd love that 3rd offer, but let me be fair and tell you that you probably don't want Bibby. He's finished AND signed for 2 more years.

How interested would y'all be in a SNT of Josh Childress for Calderon? There was a rumor that we almost made that trade about 3 years ago.
