S'up guys...
Quick question....
What is your take on your F.O. extending Horford this summer?
I saw the wiretap about Jeff Green not getting extended, and saw an article about Houston net extending anyone (Brooks)....so I'm starting to wonder about Noah....and Horford for that matter. There are only a few players worth getting extended early...but do you do it prior to the new CBA...or wait until next year?

Re: Bulls fan...question on extending Horford
The rules do not benefit them to extend this summer. They hold the cards to extend him next summer under the new cba whatever it may be. There are also so many other issues on the plate this summer that it would be odd to jump ahead to Al before dealing with everything else.

Do you worry that such a move will "piss" Al off?
Basically, these guys can be offered extensions this year...but will not be....that would tick me off if I were them.
However....if Horford does not get extended, I won't feel bad if Noah does not get extended.

I don't think he'll get upset as long as the organization explains itself and keeps him informed. He's seen as cornerstone moving forward, but they didn't do early extensions with anyone else. If they ignore the situation and don't communicate with him then yes it could ruffle feathers, but there is no reason to act that way by the front office.

I'd extend him if I were GM.

At what price tag? The only certain extension to get signed is a max offer. Anything less and he may reject it and even feel low-balled. It's not a black and white situation.

Here is it the problem, even if Horford is the one to not blame for the playoffs.
If any guy can ask Max before winning a title or at least go the the Finals, it's a problem.
Not to say that if you let Joe walk, one of the other guys will ask for Max.

I don't see Horford as being the type to get pissed off about us needing to make sure we meet the other team need's first, he isn't Childress.
