Anthony Morrow

is this guy a restricted free agent?

i really wouldn't mind over paying this guy. seems to fit the Hawks current system, athletic, great shooter, not a liability on defense. reminds me of a prime Nick Anderson. I think Crawford/Morrow could be a great backcourt duo.

Yes, he is a restricted free agent. It's hard to project from Don Nelson's system. Can Morrow play D? Has he ever been asked to? He's a reasonable bargain target, but like I said hard to evaluate.

GSW expects to match and keep Morrow. His D is not good but he's working on it,made some progress.

morrow + Craw would have problems on D,but can sure shoot

Being in the lottery every year will make your current roster very expendable. Curry comes in and pairs up with Ellis and that leaves very little time left for others.

Morrow can score, and that is needed off the bench in the NBA. I wouldn't mind taking a run at him to fill a 10-15 minute role here.

GSW's plan is to not have 6-10 guys injured and out. The idea is to become a contender. GSW wants to push the tempo up to a pace where bench is VITAL...then to have the best bench. In that context,Ellis starts at SG,but plays a lot as the alternative PG. Morrow's remarkable 3% ,combined with Curry + Azubuike, allow GSW to have perimeter aces and slash/finish guys like Ellis-Maggette-Azu-Randolph.
To best have depth, GSW has avoided contracts that peak over $11 mill.

Morrow is RFA...Bird rights....Arenas Rule. All that and GSW's coach + GM like him. He's not always THE guy,but there have been a lot of times he's in his zone, gets the shots, gets 20-30 pt.

The expendable guy on the GSW roster...Vlad Rad. Mostly the others have YOUTH +TALENT and are the kind of player we want to GET not lose. Seriously...in the lotto..so the guy who's the ACE 3 shooter is EXPENDABLE? Wanting to move UP,GSW naturally wants Young + Upside. That's what the roster has now. Bleeding talent is no way to get anywhere.

Right now GS has no tangible plan in place that I could see. They're going to suck as long as they play Nellieball.
