There isn't many tall guys in the draft. Only 2 guys (who were measured with shoes) go over the 7 foot mark.

I think Damion James hurt his value with the report of his size. He is said to be a bit of a tweener and the 6'8" with shoes didn't help his cause to have a position.

I'm disappointed that Brian Zoubek isn't in the list. I was curious to find out his true height. Also wondering where Quincy Pondexter is. He's a swingman I was considering so I'd like to know his height and wingspan.

I'm really liking how the measurements came out for likely 2nd rounders Dexter Pittman and Jerome Jordan.

I like Dominique Jones even more now that I know he's big enough to defend the 2.

Pittman's measurements aren't bad.

However, his weight issue could be a problem. 20% bodyfat? He would gives us a big body inside to battle Dwight, but I am not sure he can be a starting center due to being out of shape.

supposedly, zoubek declined the portsmouth invitational in hopes of getting the invite to chicago. we'll never see his numbers.

rumor is that pondexter has a promise.

I worry about his weight as well, but he's not that much heavier than Cousins and has excellent length. He's a guy I would want to interview to get a feel for his desire to make it in the pros and by the same token kept the weight in check. If he falls to #53 I see little downside in the project.

I had heard that injury prompted Zoubek to skip Portsmouth, but either way lack of invite explains it. I think the Hawks should bring him in for a workout and size him up just in case he's the best option left at 53. The Pondexter rumor would make sense. I just lament not getting to see the measurements and stats on him because I thought he had a good chance of being our best option available when we draft at 24.

Getting picked in the second round is exactly the type of motivation Dexter Pittman needs to work hard to get paid in the future.

I like how the combine is measuring the players hands.

Draft Express: Dexter Pittman

Dexter Pittman is quite a unique physical specimen in his own right, measuring 6-9 ½ without shoes, with a 7-6 wingspan. He also has the biggest hands in this draft (a new stat) at 10.5 inches. The fact that Pittman tips the scale at over 300 pounds and measuring nearly 21% body fat (fourth highest in history after Chris Marcus, Oliver Miller and James Lang) tells us that he still has a long ways to go with his conditioning. But if he’s willing to commit himself, he could carve out a long and lucrative professional career.

I think we should go first (big) second (big) and Dexters is the guy I like with the second pick

I don't see any way that Pittman will be there when we draft in the 2nd round. He's a gamble in the 1st because of his conditioning (and what that says about his lack of drive) but teams will look at picking him as soon as they don't have to offer him a guaranteed contract.

Both the mock draft sites have him going mid to late 1st.

There are a lot of big men who could go in the 2nd round, and I believe teams will look at taking them over PIttman. You have players like Artsiom Parakhouski, Craig Brackins, Paulao Prestes, Jarvis Varnado, Jerome Jordan, Charles Garcia. Would teams be more likely to gamble on Pittman than these guys? The height is about the same, the only different is the weight. Considering Pittman only played 20 mpg while players like Varnado averaged over 30, it is a big risk.

I think it's the opposite, he's been listed at 6'7 his time at Texas, now you're talking a legit 6'8, long arms, add that to the 3 ball he's developed and his great athleticism and rebounding, pretty wicked combination, I think he goes in the 16-24 range for sure.
