OKC is probably giving up too much, but they need to focus on what puts them in the best position to win now, and add to their 50 win season. With 50 wins they managed to be the 8th seed only because teams like Houston and New Orleans dealt with injuries. The competition will be even more difficult next season if the major contenders stay healthy, so I believe it's wise for them to make a move like this, and to give up the mid/late first round picks.
I wonder what Sam Presti thinks about Byron Mullens? If he moves the picks he must feel good about the way his young players are developing and what they can provide the team during the future. I say they should just play their cards and move up to draft a player that has a greater chance to be successful.
