Forget JJ, is there one non FA who makes this team better?

I see Chris Paul being mentioned everywhere, but if I had to get one guy in here and help us 'try' to get to the next level, I have to look at Al Jefferson....

- 25 years old
- contact is not so cap-unfriendly
- more of a C than Horford
- 1/2 court athlete who could be good for the playoffs.
- and oh yeah, he is available for trade because Minnesota has no identity right now.
- he comes to the East where his 1/2 court style works better.

I would have no problem giving up Horford or Smoove for him. Does Jefferson give you enough rebounds/defense to excite you?

Jefferson / Smoove / Marvin
Jefferson / Horford / Marvin

I like either of those frontlines more than what we have now. Then use JJ and Chills to improve the backcourt.

Horford is just as good as Jefferson and cost ALOT less...I wouldn't even give Smith for Jefferson. We need Monta Ellis:
Smith, Bibby, Williams
for
Biedrins and Ellis

Why don't we ship out Jamal for a team trying to cut costs? He'd be an expiring who can produce this year.

Jamal + Evans for Al Jefferson?
Jamal for Biedrins?
Jamal + future 1st for Monta Ellis?

I don't think GSW would want Crawford back even if he's expiring. I like Biedrins and Ellis, but we'd need to get a 3rd team involved. Even so, Crawford is the useful expiring that even cap conscious teams like and would give up talent for. He's the player currently under contract who is the most likely to get traded for upgrades.

Jefferson can play the center for you, allowing Horford to move to 4. And Jefferson knows his strengths and weaknesses, he wont be jacking 3 pt shots. Josh Smith is a great athletic player, but has he hit his ceiling? He cant iso, you cant really run plays for him unless it is something with him running at the basket. he is a little undersized at the PF position.
