to make up for the whole Hassan Whiteside debacle, can Sund atleast bring this guy in. i know he is from New Jersey, but maybe the Hawks can make a pitch how the Hawks are a better team, that makes the playoffs, and how it is better to play behind Horford than Lopez.
i still can't beleive that the Hawks could have walked way from this draft with Crawford/Whiteside/Zoubeck(or Stanley Robinson)...... but didn't

I want to see who he brings in with that money before I turn judgment on the picks. If he brings in a solid bench big man with part of that cash from the 2nd then I may be more forgiving.
But then again I was reading SI and reading the Cano article about the teams that passed on signings him to sign veterans who sucked and it does seem that you can build depth through the 2nd.

No thanks. Zoubek is very tall and can rebound well, but he has zero post moves, and couldn't ever stay away from foul trouble in college. He still has way too much to work on to be able to hang with opposing players at the NBA level, because it wasn't late until his senior year that he finally was able to have any impact at all on the college level.

Zoubek would be interesting to give a shot to because of his rebounding and pick setting skills, but I question how well he'd be getting back on D because of his foot speed. His lack of offensive moves doesn't bother me because that's not what I'm looking for out of the position. I'm looking for someone to wipe the glass. In retrospect Hassan Whiteside would have been a better investment at the top of the 2nd round because we'd be getting shot blocking off the bench (another skill set of need). At worst we'd have Thabeet level shot blocking potential at a 10th of the price tag.
BTW, I think the spend the money on the sale of the pick is a smoke screen. Until I see different I expect this team to spend on minimum salary vets to round out the roster again and limp to the lockout trying to minimize operating losses rather than improve the product. I know it sounds cynical but it just where my confidence is with this ownership group.
