Could Shaq help us with Dwight?

If our goal is to get further in the playoffs and we have to match up with Dwight, if you had the chance, what would it take to get Shaq in a Hawks uniform?
I am serious, even though it has been talked about a lot. But wasn't LD on that Laker staff in the 90s?
I would like to draw attention to it because we need some girth in the paint. Shaq could give me 20 mins during the year and I would be satisfied. Can he contribute enough in the 1/2 court?

No. At this point he's more reputation than player. Not to mention in his appointed role of Dwight stopper he is likely to inspire Dwight to a better performance. I like the Celtics model of dealing with Dwight. You just need someone (actually multiple help) to run the floor and fight him for position one on one and force him left if possible (Shaq can only do part of that). This allows the rest of the defense to close out on the rest of the Magic. That's where we would still come up short. It means that the other defenders stay on their man and don't roam to help (Josh is the obvious one here because he wants to help out defensively, but he must stay on Lewis tight) and it means that we can't have a defensive zero on the court (no Mike Bibby in the series and I'm not sure how much Jamal Crawford).
We just need some young bulky players who can still make it up and down the court and be taught how to play positional defense. I'm pretty sure the Heat were thinking about this when they selected Dexter Pittman.

Evil, give that synopsis to the ASG because obviously they don't agree.
We had 3 chances to get cheap interior potential in the draft. Who did we go with? Then Orlando goes and gets Orton.
Have you seen more of an opposite approach as us and the Magic? I go with their thinking.
Jordan Crawford may help down the road, but guy like that are easier to attain than young bulk.
Please tell me Sund and LD have something in mind other than Sy? Who's kidding who here?

Well Pape Sy is a swingman lottery ticket. If he pays off, it could be big like San Antonio has gotten over the years. Jordan Crawford was a help now pick or at worst next year. Neither was an attempt to get bulk. I've no problem with those picks, but selling off the 3rd pick hurt me. For some reason they seem focused on front court help in free agency (as long as it is minimum priced).
The entire time of the ASG ownership has shown the same undercurrent in their drafting and other moves. It's pretty apparent that they are playing checkers not chess. They have little to no commitment to developing talent.

Don't want anything to do with Snaq, he needs to retire already and start up all those crazy reality shows he's thinking about.. "FOR THE LOVE OF SHAQ 2011" Casting call anyone??
