Is it just me, or is Horford REALLY pushing ...

... to get Smoove traded? 2 weeks ago, he called out for the Sund to "get me some help" down low for rebounds and defense. Today, I read him saying he's not sure if he'll sign an extension and hints it's because he wants to play PF.

Am I reading too much into his comments?

Nah, not neccessarily....I think Horford just wants a solid big man to play inside with and allow him to play his natural position iniside and out....I didn't feel that he threw any comments at Smoove or about Smoove....If anything, he's probably feeling that regardless if he has a break out season and shows potential for stardom that hawks might still short him with the MONEY....

Andif that's the case, can u blame him? I mean, for the organization to give Joe anything over 6years/$100 MIL (really anything over $90 MIL) does not show interest/belief in the others potentially becoming MAX level players...

I thnk he is. The obvious thing being said is that he wants to play PF. But the underlying thing being spoken is that he is a better fit over Josh Smith. Now whether that means Josh is moved to SF and Marvin to the bench....OR Josh Smith is moved altogether, remains to be seen.

But AL is definitely maneuvering for changes in the starting lineup. And he's doing so as diplomatically as possible, so as not to cause any undue tension.

h#ll yes, Al doing what he needs to do for Al long term. I don't blame him I love the guy ..."No HoMo"
but, I'm team J Smove. Look around at the blogs see how many blogger whant to do us a favor a " take josh of our hands" like Al, but if I have to pick one...it Joshs. But not this year! I think we get a center and showcase them both a PF to increase there trade value and in the long run it's going to cost us more to resign Al.

Smoove can play the 3 or 4 easy. Just sign a big man to play the 5 like Shaq or another Center put Smoove at 3 and Horford at the 4 and move Marvin to bench. We could have both Crawfords and Marvin coming offthe bench with solid play and Teague unless he starts. No way you trade Smoove trade Marvin or Bibby but not Smoove!!

Go Hawks

Chemistry issues also seems to be an issue on our team and I hope they can improve. Al Horford is the one guy on this team that needs to stay here long-term at our organization may have to decide between him and Josh after this season.

Josh could play the 3 if we have a stretch 5 who can defend. Basically, healthy Okur or Brad Miller from 5 years ago.

with the offense you guys could have, I think you could live with Smith at SF. Having him defend opposing wing players, and there are good ones in the eastern conference, and just get in burned into his head not to go crazy with jumpers. he can still get points on transition, put backs, etc.

I mean, yeah, not many of them out there, but it's not like they don't exist.
