Yes and no. I can't see why we'd want to trade him for the 1st few years of the contract. It's not like he carries a huge injury risk or is someone who shows signs of carrying heat into the locker room. He's an AS player who got max offers elsewhere. His contract is commiserate with what he was going to make on the market, so I don't see why we're fretting about trying to trade it now.
The only backlash now was the thought that we wouldn't pay the luxury tax, but so far at least, we showing signs of being willing to do that. We were in the papers just yesterday about offering Shaq a deal @ the MLE for 2 years. Now, I realize there's a HUGE difference between posturing like we're willing to do something and then actually doing it, but until proven otherwise, I'm enjoying the "new look" ASG.

Well I can think of 2 teams that might be willing to trade for him right now, but I think he'll become the bad untradeable after this year, but not before then meaning that if the team regresses maybe he could be dealt at the trade deadline to a deep-pocketed team.

Almost every 'untradeable' contract has been traded before. I don't think there will be any trade this season, but if they wanna go in another direction we will be able to trade him. As long as he stays healthy, the next few years shouldn't be an issue.

The problem with really untradeable contracts is how many good assets you have to give up at the same time to shed.
