My thought on the Hawks.

Free Agency : one again its another off season where we sit and wait while all the good free agents
get taken up. a few guys out there i would take a look at are:

T-Mac he's injury prone......SO! they say he's been working hard let give him a try
he can fight for the starting sf spot. if he gets hurt so what we can jus put marvin back in
the starting ling up. but if he is healthy he is capable up putting up 18 to 20 ppg

Bibby(Trade)/teague
jj/craw/craw
T-mac/marvin(trade)/mo(Trade)
Smoove/Zaza
Al/Zaza

trade Chillz Marvin and Mo to make these work

next or also i would look at AI. reports are he is looking to come back and help anyway he is needed
i think he has learned his lesson and will act right. he would sale tickets and could bring penatration
and scoring. we have jj craw smoove and maybe t-mac so we would mind if he has lost a step
anything has to be better than bibby

AI/ Bibby(traded) Teague
JJ/Craw/Craw
T-Mac/Marvin/Mo
Smoove/Zaza
AL/Zaza

And then Shaq i almost have a good feeling about getting him if he doesn't ring chase
and go to the heat he said it was us, spurs, boston and dallas. well the celtics got JO
dallas signed Haywood and spurs signed Splitter, and if you can remember Shaq had a beef with
Bosh calling him Ru Paul and other names and he had a beef with Wade for a second
all we need him for is to bang a few games here and there most teams Smoove and AL can handle.

so
AI/Bibby(trade) Teague
JJ/Craw/Craw
T-Mac/Marvin(trade)/Mo(trade)
Smoove/Zaza
AL/Shaq

and on another note: i feel bad for Cleveland:

it is Lebrons fault they couldn't win a ring.
The Cavs gave him everything he asked for first he wanted help and the got Mo (done)
he wanted Shaq (done)
he should have asked for amare but he asked for Jamison (done)
you can't have the best record in the L 2 years in a row and then say he lost b/c he didn't have a team.
i'm not saying he should have stayed but I think its really disrespectful to have that big party they had. it should have been jus a news conference introducing him but thats jus me

i really have no problem in signing some ball hog vets. Josh, Al, and Joe can carry this team into the playoffs, but the Hawks really need less leadership and less shots from Joe and really need some guys who have been their and are not afraid to take big shots in the playoffs.

Joe is in his prime, Josh is close to being in his prime, hopefully Horford can still grow, but he probably won't take any huge leaps. the Hawks window of getting deep into the playoffs is right here and right now in the next 3 years, so might as well, sign some short term players, with low risk, in a win it now move.

They are Low risk desent reward players

if T-mac gets hurt we got marvin nothing changes

if AI flames out we got JC if nit bibby

If shaq act like shaq we can trade him

Or

AI and/or Tmac can get 15ppg or more a night
and shaq could get some big guys in foul trouble.

these are players that have been there and done that

everyone thought JC was a JUST a hog until he got on a winning team. he is a team player but
his main job is to shoot.

AI and T-mac will be on a team that doesn't need them to me tha star and i think it will work

i don't see why people want to pick up these grabage a@@ player
what can Kurt Thomas do for up he's 6'7 old and slow
Reggie Evans 6'8 with no skill.

Mario West you can play hard all day but if you suck you still suck.

it also kills me how i hear people say i don't want him he shoot to much.
doesn't every body yell at Marvin b/c he dosen't ? i would take a serious look at
anyone that had a remote interest in wanting to play for us. jus like we missed out on
stackhouse!

T-Mac probably wouldn't come here for a minimum. He still thinks he can start somewhere. Good luck with that.
Our biggest need for now is down low and until we improve there, we aren't competing with Orlando.
I think that team is still the measuring stick because keeping the Heat from driving to the basket depends on your ability to shut down the interior.

Take a list of names, go get Luis Scolia and get tougher down low. I wouldn't mind hearing some serious attempts to go get Thabeet or Oden if that is even remotely possible. If we have assets like we claim to have, this should be doable.
We have to get the logjam at PF resolved and get a dependable inside presence in off the bench.

AI? T-Mac? As starters? Is this 2002? Maybe as vet mini depth (although I doubt either would take that), but they're both washed up shells of the players they were. H3ll, even MEM cut AI; T-Mac was well in decline 2 years ago when he was still getting major minutes. Shaq is not what he was either, but at least at his size, he can still be a contributor as a space hogger. If the Diesel has anything left in the tank, then he can prove to us (the fans) that the "true C" that we've always been pining for could actually work with our unit. We know AI doesn't have anything left, I doubt that T-Mac does.

No, this is simply incorrect. The reason JC went from a "HOG" to a decent player is because he increased his shooting % by 3-4% over his career averages. There's no ? that last season was JC's best shooting year as a pro. There were a handful of teams that he's been on were he had support and didn't have to be the "guy", but he was an indiscriminate chucker anyway. Woodson got JC to get with the program and maybe that can carry over to his 2nd season (I'm a doubter, but it could). But bringing in not 1, but 2 more guys who want the touches that would be better served if they were going to Jordan Crawford (not only as development, but we'd also get better production) is just a recipe for disaster. We've got the guy who's now the highest paid player in the NBA, and we want to surround him with high usage players who aren't even that efficient... Good lord no.

All about big names, but the reality is that age and injuries have reduced those guys to shells of their former selves. The resulting team would have about as much sizzle as one of those Monsters of Arena Rock summer tours where Styx, REO Speedwagon, and Journey play an amphitheater. It might have marketing appeal to see your old favorites one more time before they are gone, but it won't do well on the court.
