Of the 3 remaining slots with minimum $$, show me your cards

Unsigned as of today and give me 3 guys who might help in some manner...

I'll go first...
Josh Powell/Rafer Alston/Damien Wilkins

Alston has experience should we be able to move Bibby.

I think Shaq's pride keeps him from taking the league minimum.

Notice how I overlooked Kwame?

I'll try:

Earl Barron/Josh Powell/Earl Watson

I think we're fine on the wings. I want Barron to get a shot at backup C. I picked Powell over Tolliver by the thinnest of margins. And Earl Watson is my backup PG should we be able to move Bibby. I actual figure they'll give up trying to move Bibby and then the 3rd signee wouldn't be a PG, but another big because we are real thin up front.

Matt Barnes
Kwame Brown
Earl Barron

Teague/Bibby
JJ/JC/JC2
Marvin/Matt Barnes/Mo Evans
Josh Smith/Earl Barron
Al Horford/Zaza/Kwame

I'm a little stuck between Barron, Tolliver, and Amundson.

I think I should switch Earl Watson with Jeremy Lin.

Most definitely. Since Barnes has signed, I'm swapping him with Lin.

Lin sounds like he is headed to the Lakers, but there is def some competition for him.

With what the Hawks need as a PG, which is experience, I don't think LD goes with 2 young PGs. That's why I thought Alston might be a fit, based on his experience and not any of the issues that has occurred with him. IMO, he got a raw deal in Orlando. I also remember him being successful in Houston.

Now these names we are presenting would have to agree upon a minimum contract to sign with the ASG. That's the only way we sign anyone of any significance.

I see where Siler is interested in us, but I don't hear that the interest from the ASG. Sounds like the Heat might have the inside track.

Jason Williams, Anthony Tolliver, and Brian Zoubek.

Damn... looks like Zoubek has actually signed a training camp contract and not just a summer league contract so I'll go with Mikael Torrance.\

I'd be all for Amundson but I think he'll get more than the minimum.

I'd also be excited to see Watson or Mahinmi. Scheyer would be a nice fit as well.

Watson & Mahimini both have signed contracts at this point.

Is it me or does the entire league has to fill its rosters before we fill ours?

Seems that way.......headline of the week for us....Hawks might resign Collins.

CJ Watson signed, who has Earl Watson signed with?

Also the reason I want a second fast PG is for practice purposes. An older PG is unnecessary with Bibby still on the team.

Wait... so why do you want Earl Watson again? The guy is what? 30? 32? He's pretty much the same age as Bibby. Might as well sign Lin.

Earl Watson was there as my Bibby replacement if we could dump Bibby's contract. He is 31 but hasn't dropped off as much defensively as Bibby. There weren't a lot of great options in the PG market in my opinion. I just saw him as a defensive upgrade to Bibby or Alston (34 years old) at PG. I switched him to Jeremy Lin when I decided that we wouldn't be able to move Bibby and could use a young PG for practice. If we have only 2 PGs I think 1 should be a vet.

For the type of PG we need in the event that Teague does not take advantage of the this opportunity, I just think Alston is a better leader than Watson or a Lin.

I am looking towards playoff basketball and the need to execute in the 1/2 court. Teague may get there in time, but Bibby IMO brings nothing except some long range shooting at times.

Alston is an insurance gap to keeping us rolling. He can lead a team as we saw in Orlando a couple of years ago and was thrown to the side when Van Gundy gambled with Nelson and lost.

Looks like it might take a trade to get us anyone that might provide any assistance. I don't have a good feeling right about our bench talent. I don't expect anything more than what I have seen in the past, and Bibby might not be able to adjust to a bench role.

Watson I like as a guy who can play good defense and hit an open shot. The Hawks don't need a PG to initiate the offense.
