Al keeps complaining that he is a natural pf. move him to the bench
so i say sign shaq and that solve 2 problems.

1. Shaq gets to start we all know that there is no one in the l that gives Dwight more problems than
Shaq aside from Yao and Perkins

2. Al gets to play pf more

i don't know why he thinks he is better at the 4 adleast with the 5 he has the speed advantage
his post game suck.

since everyone keeps talk aobut us getting melo
how about Marvin Horford and JC for Melo and J.R Smith
i jus have a feeling he isn't going to want to come back
we get would have

and at the end of the year we will have money with a player option for Melo and JR and Mo off the books plus bibby/shaq expiring

It's amazing how all of the "let's trade Josh or Al" proposals always end up with the Hawks getting someone like Chris Paul or Carmelo back in return.

He doesn't get more PF playing time.
As long as we keep Josh as PF, it doesn't change anything that Al start or not.

In both cases, he will play 16min at PF behind Josh's 32min, and 16min at C, with Shaq playing 32min.

First of all, you aren't sending a reigning all-star to the bench for nothing but an injury.

Now, if you are serious about getting Shaq, then yes, you have to have an opening in the starting lineup. Cleveland inserted him into the starting lineup no matter after his injury or not. He started about Z. Now Z is in Miami and will probably start.

Bringing Shaq in makes so much sense. But I do think that you have to come to an agreement that will force him to give us his best effort. That means incentives are the best approach. If he meets incentives, both sides win.

It will take a Al or Smoove trade to bring Shaq in though. I don't see Marvin being shipped out just to make room and we have seen where that went.

What would be interesting is what kind of offers that Sund might be getting for either Al or Smoove.
You know there has to be some conversations taking place to determine their value.

But at this point, any transaction that brings in a new starter would ignite the fan base whether it takes Al or Smoove for it to happen. You move either of these guys, you get yourself 2 potential new starters with Shaq and Al/Smoove on the frontline.

Why the Horford hate? He's our one guy most likely to play at a championship level.

And who decided Shaq had ANYTHING left? He's a shadow of his former self -- and not a good shadow. Don't tell me he's able to play like a starter - if he could, you'd have certainly seen it when he played with LBJ. He's a decent backup and that's a_l_l. Why is he not getting any offers? Why are the Hawks in a position of power, trying to get him down to $2-3 million?

Would I trade Zaza to get Shaq? Sure, but anyone who thinks we should trade or move Horford or Smoove (or, for that matter, Marvelous) in order to make room for Shaq is just plain wrong.

I say send KJizzle to the bench.

If I had to build around one Hawk long-term it would be Al. We have gone to the playoffs every year he has been a Hawk, one can't say that about JJ or Josh.

Al and Bibby (too bad he's getting old) are the only two guys with real leadership on the court.
The other don't have that or can't stay enough focused to be a leader.
Maybe sometimes Al is wishing Noah would be here.

Is there a link to any qoute from AL, in regards to any statement he made about wanting to play at the 4?

I honestly believe you guys need to be prepared to offer him 80 mill over 5 season, minimum.

Have you paid any attention to Shaq the last 2 years?? He is a shell of a shell of his post prime self when he was with Miami even. Horford natural position is obviously the 4, it has to be taking some toll on his body to be banging with these guys ever year that outweigh him by 40/50 pounds. As far as trading for Melo, i think it's silly talk. This isn't happening and just because it works on tradechecker doesn't always mean it's a done deal.

This is the same guy who said we should sign T-Mac and A.I., so keep it with a grain of salt.

The OP is correct. Rather than complaining about playing the 5. AH should focus his energy on improving his primitive post game. Developing a few post moves to his left would really enhance his game.

This is why we should try to move Al in a package for a Melo! Josh's cap number is a lot smaller than if we have to pay Al, and I don't his up side is greater than Josh's. I would have loved to build around AL and Josh ( 25 year old guys) but these Bozo gave JJ 124 mil which pretty much sealed the deal for Al. I would be a lot easier to put a package of expiring around AL than trying to move Joshs deal. any team at the end of day could chose not to sign him long term and just sign and trade him.
