Mavs-Hornets, then Hawks-Mavs

Post#1 » by saloonyk8 » Sun Jul 25, 2010 1:43 am

I was thinking about this last night...

Mavs are on CP3's list. They have assets and expiring contracts. It would go down as 2 separate trade because Chandler TE. But basically this is what it boils down to:

Chandler/Butler/Beabois/Barea for CP3/Okafor

NOH: Stay competitive with Chandler up front, Collison Butler backcourt with Beaubois young stud and lots of expiring space.
Dallas: Kidd/CP3/Marion/Dirk/Haywood nice, nice lineup, but one potential thing that the Hawks can get in on.

Once the Kidd/CP3 combo goes on for a while, it will be apparent they really don't need TWO real point guards. Well, time for the PG-needy Hawks to step in and give the Mavs a Godfather lineup that only Mark Cuban could afford (literally). In the middle of the season, when eligible, we trade JJ for JKidd and JTerry...here's the lineups midseason:

NOH: Collison, Beaubois, Butler, West, Chandler and lots of expirings with Peja off bench

Dallas: Paul, Johnson, Marion, Dirk, Haywood, if they can't win with that team they should all retire. It's a ridiculous dream team with Johnson being the 3rd wheel...it comes at great cost, but I think Cuban would go for it.

Atlanta: Kidd, Crawford, Marvin, Smith, Horford, and possible Shaq. No we won't win the east but will be incredibly fun to watch offensively, will sell tickets and Kidd will be happy with those guys around him (I think).

Got to admit I like dumping Johnson's contract as a consolation prize.

I love this trade. We build around Smoove/Horford, and with Kidd's leadership, maybe Smoove will actually stop chucking jumpshots.

LOL, this will go well with Joe haters, but the ownership will give a smile and a hell no and point at the door.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
