Josh Smith Getting Married, Dwight Howard Is Best Man

In the process, he also let something slip: The Hawks’ Josh Smith, his childhood friend, is getting married.The reason I know this is because when I asked Howard how long he was in town for, he said, “Until Sunday. Josh is getting married tomorrow night and I’m the best man at his wedding.” Link

Ya know, if DH reeeeeally loved Smoove, he'd find a way to be there to support Smoove at all his Hawks games....

maybe he wants SMoove down in Orlando. Be his partner in crime down there. Less distractions, no state taxes.

^Nah, homecooking beats it all. Can you imagine having to live in Orlando after growing up in the ATL? He's a great kid, so I'm glad y'all pay DH so much to make up for the pain.

i've lived in both. Atlanta is nice and all, but I like Orlando better. You dont have to deal with all the traffic and other stuff that Atlanta has. ( and i say that, while currently living in Atlanta)

go to Orlando sometime and only go to Downtown, not Disney. They have plenty of that "other stuff" too, only its done in a safer venue. Not as many murders and robberies. There is a reason many major sports stars make their off season home in Orlando.

Bump, in case others missed it. Dwight and Josh have a tighter friendship than Lebron and Wade.
My guess is that Dwight still lives in Georgia during the offseason. Man I know he would love to play for Atlanta and people would love him back but give him space y'know. I think this is one of the places he would love to play and with D.Williams/M.Williams/J.Smith/A.Horford/D.Howard we would have lots of size at every position.

The Hawks’ Josh Smith tied the knot this weekend in Atlanta and BallerAlert grabbed some exclusive photos of the nuptials. The college park native married longtime love, Alexandria Lopez, in an elaborate ceremony Saturday night.

Josh’s childhood friend, Dwight Howard served as best man and was spotted doing some good in the hood with the kids of Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Atlanta on Friday. In an interview with the AJC, Dwight inadvertently spilled the beans about the ceremony:

…when I asked Howard how long he was in town for, he said, “Until Sunday. Josh is getting married tomorrow night and I’m the best man at his wedding.” Howard smiled and suddenly suffered from memory loss when asked specifics about the wedding.

For what it's worth, Josh left my 2K11 franchise to go down to Orlando, despite making the ECF three years straight, with a Finals trip in there. They then proceeded to win 5 championships in a row.

Just sayin'.

Ah the great 2K series, I used to make proxy players and amp up people's tangibles ie for the draft. Players that surprised me how good they could be Tyler Hansbrough, Marcus Thornton, and Dejuan 6'7 Blair.

Lo and Behold. Also I predict Tyreke Evans is too ball dominant and is a 3rd option, he is just so slow.

I don't watch college or play 2K anymore but some of the aspects of the game are great for simulating real life. Speed, Post defense are the most life like. Offensive Awareness is most easily improved in real life.

As for Josh in Orlando. Hawks FO might be stupid enough to do that. But yeah Josh and Howard would complement each other, even with Josh at the 4 for Orlando.

i lived in both too, and Orlando is so boring. their is a reason why their is no traffic, because their is nothing to do their. just a bunch of boring old white people. Orlando is okay in your 50s, but not if you are young and want to do stuff.

what are you talking about. those majority of sports stars are old white golfers. the majority of rich black people, sports stars, rappers, entertainers, comedians, CEO are all in ATL

Was just coming to post this. It boggles my mind when people use things such as "traffic" and "safety" when judging which cities athletes like to live in(as if they would ever go into a low income neighborhood in the 1st place). They are much more concerned with the weather and how much fun the strip clubs and VIP sections are.

W/ that said I can't see Dwight coming to the Hawks. They are spending as much as possible while the Hawks operate like a small market team.
