Once again lemme school you
Under the guise of 'due diligence' Masai allowed several presumably (or at least arguably) more qualified coaches get hired so no one could question him hiring the guy he wanted all along.
If they're truly expecting to take a next step, why hire a first-time coach?
Long story long, to me, this signals the end of TOR's little run. Can't fool me, Masai. G'head and pick that wool outta yer eyebrows, @jamall 'cause you've been had if you think this is a good move.
Ignoring the condescension...
I do like the signing, but I'll concede on the issue. I haven't paid much attention to TOR since Tracy McGrady left.
I think they are the wildcard in nest year's postseason. They are more seasoned than Philly and Indy. And consistently garner top-4 seedings (and thusly home court advantage).
I could see them sneaking into the ECF again in a post-LeBron Eastern Conference.
Don't lie. You love the condescension.
And, to me, that CLE series 'done' the cRaptors for good. They basically sold out for this season only to get swept again. Remember, their ECF season was as much an anomaly as ours was with the huge caveat being that the team they have is the team they want to end up with. Everybody's been paid so they come back next year with the same gutless bunch ... only older.
No coach was gonna walk in and be a miracle worker. And it's not only playoff duds against Lebron in their history. They've been swept by lower-seeded WAS team as well. I expect to see them dip back to the 40's in terms of reg. season wins (now that they don't have 3 tanking teams in-division) and gradually fade away from there as Lowry gets older.
Now, if they bite the bullet and move on from one of their "core" this offseason, maybe that changes.
Was that less condescending for you or what?
