Powell effect

Post#1 » by FCNATL85 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 2:40 am

Not that I want to exagerate Josh powell contribution to the team so far but I am pleasantly surprised by the guy. In addition to a no non-sense approach and a quiet leadership attitude, I feel that his biggest impact could be in helping guys like Smoothe or marvin to grow their game faster, especially in regrads to Smoothe by his professional champion attitude (having won 2 rings has to bring a certain mind set simply by being around that kind of caliber expectations).
Reminds me a lot of Grant Long to a certain extent...A good and cheap pick-up in my book.

I too have been really pleased with Josh Powell's play. Maybe it is also Coach Drew willing to use them, but the bench feels a lot more sound right now with Josh Powell, Zaza, and Teague getting steady minutes and contributing along with the 6th man of the year Jamal Crawford. Jason Collins still does nothing for me, but Powell has been a huge upgrade (small sample size I know) on Joe Smith on the court.
