ATL / PHX / CHA

Atlanta Trades: Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby, 2nd
Atlanta Receives: Steve Nash, Matt Carroll, TE ($5.6M)
Hawks get rid of Joe's horrendous contract and receive a player that makes everyone around him better.

S. Nash / Teague
J. Crawford / Carroll / Jo. Crawford
M. Williams / Evans / Sy
J. Smith / Powell
A. Horford / Pachulia / Collins

Phoenix Trades: Steve Nash
Phoenix Receives: Boris Diaw, Mike Bibby, CHA (Unp) 1st, ATL 2nd
Phoenix, after trading J-Rich, are looking for a change. Although the Suns FO said they aren't shopping Nash, I think it's for "PR" reasons.

M. Bibby / Dragic
V. Carter / Childress / Dudley
G. Hill / Pietrus
B. Diaw / Frye / Warrick
M. Gortat / Lopez

Charlotte Trades: Boris Diaw, Matt Carroll, Unprotected 1st
Charlotte Receives: Joe Johnson
Bobcats switch a struggling PF and a 1st to a Prime player that fits with their aging cast.

D. Augustine / Livingston
J. Johnson / Henderson
S. Jackson / McGuire / Najera
G. Wallace / Thomas / Brown
N. Mohammed / K. Brown / Diop

Atlanta Contends, Phoenix Rebuilds, Charlotte Contends. So... what do ya think?

It doesn't make sense for any team other than the Hawks. The Bobcats get a talent increase but they couldn't afford to pay him that much.

Eh... I'm not sure about that. With this trade, Charlotte becomes top 5 in the east. (Boston, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, then charlotte. They would contend in the east for a few years. I think they would jump all over this opportunity. Plus aren't they already in lux?

Couple of things:
- CHA doesn't have a 1st to trade. CHI owns their 1st with huge protections starting in '12. The earliest 1st they could trade is like in '18.
- If PHX is looking to trade Nash, then I wouldn't think that this package would entice them enough to do it. Diaw and Bibby aren't even expirings, and they only get 1 1st. They got more than this for J-Rich and Turkoglu...
- As much as our fans may not want to hear it, we're not looking to trade JJ. We went out and recruited him and threw a lot of $$ @ him. We can say it was a mistake, that's fine. We can say you wouldn't have done it, that's fine too. But making trades with him involved is just a waste of time. Our FO wants him on the team, whether we like it or not.

If the hawks want Steve Nash, then expect to part ways with either Josh Smith or Al Hardford.. Not need to get any other team involved.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
