I'm Disappointed in the offensive mindset of this team

Post#1 » by SAUCERY_SWEET » Mon Dec 27, 2010 3:47 am

Remember when Coach Drew and co. were talking about this motion offense and how improved we would look?? Since that quick start i have to say it's been very frustrating to watch this slow plodding, stand around and shoot offense. We look worse than last year and that's a damn shame. Where's the explosiveness, quick hitters?? We look like a team the age of the Celtics but with far less ability.

The 1 thing that i'm more disappointed with than anything is our slow drawwed out and predictable offense more than any other aspect.

Tons of flaws all around.

Joe still ballhogs.
Crawford still ballhogs.
Josh has regressed in terms of shot selection and rarely if ever slashes anymore.
Al needs to man up and DEMAND the ball when he's hot.
Bibby actually runs the offense but it pretty much stalls whenever it's not in his hands anymore.
Marvin actually runs the offense but is still too passive.

Drew's rotations are questionable.

The team is solid but full of flaws. I miss all the fastbreak dunks and the half court oops. The Hawks might be the 2nd most boring team in basketball. Its sad. I would love to see Marvin and Al in a different system. This team makes me so sad.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Drew is an idiot. he has no business being the headcoach of a nba team. this is what the hawks get for going cheap and hiring this POS. i wonder if he even tries to coach. seems like this is just a crappier version of woodsons offense the guys are remembering to do on the run.

I'm not ready to blame Drew for everything but i just think this team could be so much better with a quicker pace mindset. Where's the alley oops like someone said, where is our fast breaks?? I know we'll never be the Suns or Knicks as far as pace but it can definitely be a lot better. We should be freaking teams out with our athleticism but who gives a damn if you walk it up at a snails pace letting the other team dictate tempo. I bet other coaches and players on opposing teams are befuddled at why this team plays so slow.

Saucery...I pointed out some flaws in Drew's coaching less than a month ago and yoiu responded that you had "no problems at all" with his coaching. The only differnece between Drew and Woodson that I've seen is that Drew has absolutely no clue how on how to manage the rotation.

So be it Hoops, I have to admit that looking at this team lately and how they're running the offense makes me kind of wonder if this isn't a watered down version of Woodhead's version. And if that's so then God help us all. :noway:
