Simple Portland trade idea

Marvin Williams and protected 1st round pick
for
Andre Miller
Logic: Gets a veteran PG in to run the show whose contract isn't guaranteed next year. Dumps Marvin's salary commitment to allow resigning of Jamal. ESPN's trade checker shows a 9 game improvement based on Miller's productivity. Longer term, the loss of Marvin can be made up with a relatively cheap SF because his role was limited too much considering his salary.
For Portland's side of it, they move an ill-fitting veteran for a young F that could blossom in a different situation (close to home as well). I'm realistic that Marvin's not shown enough this year to be coveted, that is why I'm tying a 1st rounder around his neck so rival GMs might play with him.
I acknowledge this isn't the perfect move (Nash, maybe), but it's realistic and unlike the Calderon rumors it helps resign Jamal. The contracts match up and I believe the prospect of playing closer to home might help sell Marvin (his best game as a Hawk was probably a road trip to Seattle years ago). On the downside our bench fire power in going to be consolidated on the perimeter with Crawford and Bibby. My hope is that by adding a true PG to the mix that maybe the offense will transform more and maybe we won't settle for isos and jump shots at key points in the game (probably a pipe dream with our current roster). Potentially Miller could get the ball to Al and Josh in better scoring locations more often.
