Intriguing. Few teams will actually trade an unprotected first, let alone the team most likely to get the most ping pong balls. You are offering a reasonable payment for it, imo, but I doubt they do the deal. If they hold on to their pick they might land Sullinger who would help energize the fan base again.

I don't see anyway that Washington makes the 2nd deal. McGee was a higher draft pick than what our 2011 pick is likely to be. I don't think they want to sell McGee cheap at this point. Bigs are just too hard to find and he's quite young.

Would love to have Irving, but he might be a top 2 pick and haven't seen if he's recovered and may not pre-draft (which may or may not take him out of the draft. Also with our draft luck we'd probably land the 4th pick in the draft. If that meant Irving or Kanter then great. If it turned out to be another mentally soft UNC player or a redundant player to a cornerstone Hawk then I might abandon the team. Another consideration is that with the lockout looming that top underclassmen might decide that their future is better helped by staying in school and getting exposure than sitting around without a contract waiting for a labor dispute get settled.

I'd admit it's intriguing, but there's no way that a real GM would do that right now from either side. From CLE's side, what does it gain to do this deal now instead of after the lottery? They aren't going to the playoffs, so why bother? It would make more sense to wait until they've scouted the players and determined that they guy they'd target isn't a franchise guy before pulling the trigger on something like this. From ATL side, what if the acquisition of Smoove + Teague + JC2 gave CLE another 5-10 Ws? Then the pick wouldn't be near the worth it would seem now. If CLE did get a top 3 pick and offered this package to us right before the draft, it would be very interesting though...

As for the WASH deal, I agree with evildallas in that I don't think WASH would go for it. They like McGee and there's still the Summer League symbiosis between Wall and him. They wouldn't deal him over Blatche when Wall is their guy. Blatche is a problem for them right now though, but his current stigma of locker room cancer (specifically one from WASH) pretty much makes him untradeable unless you think you've got the right climate for him to come into... I don't think we do.

I agree with theatlfan that Blatche is whom they would want to deal and that he wouldn't work here. A team with a stable coach and respected veterans with strong personalities on the squad might be able to straighten Blatche out or at least keep him in check. Our vets doesn't measure up to that standard. I'd worry that Blatche might negatively affect the rest of the squad rather than fly right himself.

It sad really because I think they'd jump at Zaza and Mo Evans for Blatche and Hilton Armstrong to get him out of there. We could use Blatche's scoring punch on the 2nd unit (Zaza struggles in those situations even when he shouldn't), but I'd worry that he might wreck chemistry. On the other hand a case can be made that winning can turn around a bad attitude at least for awhile, so maybe it would be worth the risk.

I like Andray Blatche. He's like a skinnier young Z-Bo or a smaller Al Jefferson. While those usually aren't great comparisons, I think he'd be a great help to this team, especially since he's young, cheap, talented, and if we really could get him for Zaza/Evans which I HIGHLY doubt, we wouldn't be shedding any core pieces.

Blatche a scoring machine????!?!?!??!?! Just like 95% of high schoolers in the NBA he's got terrible shot selection, can't rebound, and loves to stand around the perimeter.. hey, does that remind you of some home town kid named Smith?

Shot selection is entirely different from scoring ability. It's much easier to teach shot selection than it is to teach post footwork, touch, and a faceup game.

You know who also had bad shot selection on a bad team? Jamal Crawford. And Flip Murray.

I don't think Blatche is very expensive to acquire because of the locker room cancer rumor. The Wizards are in flux and I think they'd like to build for the future without poisoning the core pieces they have. But what do I know.

A simplified version would be with Teague- Smith- 1st 11 to SAC for Thompson- unprotected 1st

we get an average C but young and a star PG to work with JJ- Marv- Al and allow us to keep JC1 and Bibby as main back-up. Obviously would look to trade Marvin...

Maybe with something like Marv- Zaza- fut 2nd for Wallace and the cats
