I need to give Drew credit.

I've been ragging on Drew for his management of the PG position (except for spurts with Bibby, it's not working, but that's for another time...).

So I need to be fair and brag on his work with Smoove, Marvelous and Collins/Zaza.
He's letting Smoove go against which ever forward is the weaker defender and it's been paying off: against PFs, he has Smoove using his speed and quickness; against SFs, Smoove is muscling them aside.
Marvelous is being allowed to focus on aggressiveness, rather than the "fitting in" junk that he can only (mentally?) handle by getting out of the way.
The Center duo, while poor, are being used well enough to allow Horford to move to PF for awhile each game.

All in all, this is a big part of effective coaching. For example, if Drew can get 20 minutes/game out of Zaza Collins (or perhaps Didymus Pachulia), then we're a drastically improved team. Not saying he WILL, understand, but that's what a good coach is for.

Now, if he can just figure out Teague....

An add-on to your statement is that by using Zaza Collins for the first 2-3 quarters at C allows for wearing down the opposition to make Al closing at C less of a physical grind as well than matching up with a fresh center at the start of the game.

Good point. That way Horford can exploit bigger players with his quickness and smaller ones with his strength the same way Smoove does.

Helps keep Al out of foul trouble against those bigger centers in the first half of games, too.
