Eleven more wins for Hawks! Not sure if Cavs really do this or what.

Thanks for posting.

I fully support this trade if it stays that way.

That would be a nice deal. I know CLE fans will berate it, but it's a decent deal for them as well. Manny Harris is a decent player, but he's easily replaceable. Clearing his minutes means they could delve into the NBDL market for a replacement after buying out Evans on our dime. Session is nice, but let's not forget that no one wanted him in FA last off-season. He is what he is: a decent PG who would bring some dribble penetration to our O, but he isn't and won't be an elite PG in the league. Teague has much higher upside which they've seen 1st hand in his 24/15 game against them last year. Seems like a decent deal for all parties here...

Another rumor going around is that POR is investigating JC1 again. My guess is that their bait is Camby - POR is looking to go young and might prefer to clear Camby's contract next year off the books. There's a chance that Camby could retire if traded though. There would need to be a minor swap on top of that (Zaza for Rudy?) since we'd need to close the hole for our 6th man, but I don't think there would be too big a stumbling block here. I think POR is looking for an overhaul and they've got an overload of kids that could fill the role. OTOH, I'd think we be willing to move any piece that wouldn't be getting current minutes to nab one of them.

Yes, I noticed that it said the Hawks--- but failed to note that the CAVs would have no logical interest in it. Manny Harris has shown more than Teague this season and Sesson's is doing much better than both of them. The CAVs are near the bottom in player salary and not a Mecca for free agents so they would value that expiring that highly--- Not. I am not saying that Harris is even that great of a prospect or that Session is a star, but the CAVs give up rebuilding assets and get one questionable one (Teague) in return. When something is too good to be true... it probably is--- no matter how you dress it up.
The CAVs covet quality draft picks/ prospects, not cap space.

Sources say Cleveland, in general, is telling teams that it's willing to take on long-term salary in a trade -- something you don't hear often these days, with so much fear about the next labor agreement and how restrictive it could be -- but only if a quality prospect or draft pick is attached. The Cavs aren't interested in cap-clearing deals. They obviously need talent ...

Sessions is obviously a far better player than Teague(based on advanced statistics)...but his value around the league isn't as high as the Cavs fans think. He's been on terrible teams his whole career but has only started a third of his games. We're only 6-7 months removed from Minnesota trading him for Cleveland for nothing and then signing Luke Ridnour to the same contract.

I wouldn't be surprised if Teague and a 1st rounder was enough to get him.

its okay....... i guess Cavs want to shed some cap, even though it is just alittle. i'm a fan of Teague, but i guess Drew isn't, but even if he does develop, i think he could produce as much as Sessions. so with the trade, we get a PG that we hoped Teague would turn into.

We are in negotiations with the Wizards for Hinrich.
I believe he is a far better fit here than Sessions. I do not mean Hinrich is a better player, but he knows his role, plays defense, pass the ball (something Sessions once heard about) and sets the tempo and his companions.
Anyway, just a small change in LD's way of seeing things that will not affect the overall direction of this team.

What evidence is there to show that Hinrich is a better passer than Sessions?

It's pretty obvious that the Hawks need more scoring...particularly in the paint. They only have 4 players who can score and all of them are jumpshooters. On a per minute average...Sessions gets more shots at the rim and more free throw attempts than anyone on the Hawks despite being a 6'3 point guard.
