Best win of the year

Post#1 » by smittylo » Thu Mar 3, 2011 2:27 am

Al Hortford showed the home crowd why he should be the focus on this team. Being behind the whole game and to come back and win this one was very sweet. Marvelous even showed up on the defensive end. Wow, what a game!!!

It Horford, not Hortford. But, you're right on point, game of the year, should hopefully give us the confidence to turn up for the big games to come.

That was a great come back Im glad they didn't just quit.Horford had a great game and Marvin actually stepped up.Hawks defense in the 2nd half was great and Joe had that key steal against Rose at the end to seal it.

Game of the year thus far in my eyes.
Rose 5-20. Hinrich and Johnson played good D on him

Good game guys. Horford was a beast and when Rose goes bad, we're useless. Two more matchups this month and I'm assuming Josh Smith will be back, Boozer can't guard a house cat. Good luck.

I really had to mute the TV because of how depressing the 1st 6 minutes were. I'd say that at least 33 percent of the fans in Phillips tonight were Bulls fans.

I still don't see how Hinrich is any more of a pg than Bibby...but buying the idea that the team defense is better. That was probably the best defensive game of Marvin's career(blocking a Derrick Rose dunk?) and Al single handedly kept the Hawks energy level high enough to avoid a repeat of that Hornets game. Joe didn't shoot well but still had a pretty good all around game capped off with denying Rose the ball which led to a fast break dunk.

I had some issues with Drew's coaching as well...but what else is new.

Just heard Horford's post-game interview...Officially in love. Any news on Smoove's MRI?

Rathbun was on his game tonight. He brought new meaning to the words homer. Way to go, Rath.

If he becomes the "Focus" of the team,Then his flaws will be shown by teams that actually force him to create on his own and actually work on the low block, and not give him those open 17 footers.Tonight he showed aggression on the offensive boards, but he would admit he doesn't come with it all the time. Please remember that Joe was being doubled,so Al could have his open shots and usually Josh creates for Al as well.Never hating on him, because him and josh will form an amazing complimentary duo. Awesome night Al :D

GREAT GAME FOR HORFORD, but how about giving some props to Kirk and the rest of the Hawks for shutting down Rose, 5 of 21 shooting and 6 turn over and only getting to the line 3 times. it is too much to ask Kirk and Teague to shut down the other team's point guard every night, but i'm glad they did it tonight.

Wow, Hawks... WOW!. Great game! I think this was a much needed win for the Hawks with Smoove out with MCL injury. Al Horford is a BEAST! I could see him get really angry when Boozer dunked and started screaming. Al showed him who is boss. Suddenly I feel great about the post season if we can win a game where just about everybody but Al and a poor game.

You guys should read some of the threads in the Bulls board. It's pretty funny. They are really down on Rose after that loss. They are calling it the worst loss of the season.

And Marvin coming up huge in the 4th. I didn't know Marvin had that in him. Every now and then he shows flashes of what he could become.

Twin shouldn't start unless he is guarding Bynum, Dwight, or Shaq.

Bob Rathbun is my MVP! He was soooo excited. For all of you that went to the game, do yourself a favor and go watch the Hawks vs. Bulls highlights on nba.com and hear Bob Rathbun go crazy!

"MVP, take it down Marvin!"

Boy am I in a good mood.

Bull. Horsefeathers. Huge mound of fecal madness. How are teams going to "force" Horford to "actually work on the low block" when he's fast enough to blow by every Center who comes out to cover him? If Noah isn't fast enough, who is? If you were right, teams would be defending Horford out there now, because we have no one else who is posting up right now. Horford is the most accurate midrange shooter this year in the NBA, at 57%. You think teams are letting him shoot out there because they like it?

And Horford "...doesn't come with it all the time..."???

Quick game recap? I was at Wizards vs. Warriors, which was a terrible game before Nick Young started bombing 28 ft fadeaway 3s.

What a great win. Folks, year after year we hope that JJ will perform at a high level in the playoffs, well this game shows what's coming or what's not. His game is all about ball handing whenever he touches it. Since he's mostly in the wings, it gives the D time to double and triple. He struggled terribly tonight. Forced every shot and took that horrible 3 when we were down by 1. I will just say this, don't exepct JJ to do much better in the playoffs again. On the other end we got a guy that's just extraordinary. He plays team ball and never quits. I think L. Drew made a huge mistake by starting and playing J. Collins. There are lessons to be learned from this game. Some, we already knew. Horford is great and JJ is just not the guy you count on for a game with playoff intensity
GO HAWKS.

I guess you don't pay attention to when Joe gets doubled at times or when Josh Smith actually drives instead of a bone head jump shot, practically leaving Al wide open to shoot. When has Al literally abused anybody on the low block?? Yes he is an accurate Mid Range guy and i love him for that, but Al doesn't bring what he brought last night to the table all the time.If so then he should be easily averaging 22 & 10.Like I said I don't hate him,but he does have a weakness. Noah takes advantage of slower slue footed guys, and since Horford is neither, then of course Noah is going to struggle without having any bulk on the boards even though Noah still had 13 pts & 12 rebounds.Al stepped up big tonight,no doubt
