What about Michael Beasley at SF??
Maybe a trade of Darko and Beasley for a 2nd,Marvin, and Zaza

why would Minnesota do that?

the 2nd round pick of course..lol
I hear Beasley isn't all that valued by Minny either especially having Wesley Johnson as well.Marvin is a better defender and rebounder and that is what Minny wants.I would have been hoping Zaza and a 2nd could land Darko

Minnesota would never in a million years take that deal.

Why would we do that? Beasley is not a true SF -- he's a tweener who does better at PF, just like Smoove, only Smoove is tons better. It would be a mess -- defensively, especially -- to play them together and I know you don't mean for Beasley to bench Smoove.

I'd do that trade pretty easily.
Beasley > Marvin
Darko >= Zaza

Thats the way I see it, and Darko is actually better with is defensive presence. Beasley is a tweener but could excel at the 3 for us because he can create on his own and work on the low post as well, and because he is a tweener who performs better at the 4,he can sub in for Josh like the situation we are in now.Put him on a winning team with some good team defense and he will be motivated to play some D. We get not offensive output from Marvin on most nights and have to force Joe,Josh, and Al to make up the difference.so overall the defensive effort sometimes gets negated when we only score 90-95 points(if we make it there).Beasley would give the offense a needed lift.If the T wolves had better Guards and a decent Center, then they would be a better team with this guy avg 19 points and close to 6 rebounds.

Sorry, I did not see Darko. There's no way MIN does this. Their GM loves him.

that is actually not a bad trade for both teams, I just don't think Min would do it

Yeah Minny doesn't do it just because of Darko, but Beasley alone for those 2 could happen if Sund can grow him a pair.Hawks could cut salary, fill the 3 with a scorer, and go buy them a Center.I would gamble on Oden..don't care what anyone says

older players that are less productive with less potential, but on the plus side they cost more
MN accepts

Marvin would have to show more on a steady basis before you can get a remotely equal talent deal. Beyond that the key would be next year if Minnesota feels that Beasley is too risky to resign, but even if they decide that they probably wouldn't covet 3 years of Marvin at his price tag.

I think Beasley has a hard time playing with other good players. i don't think he would do well with Joe and Jamal dominating the ball, and with Horford stepping it up on offense, we basically just need a SF who will play elite defense and hit 3s

I would take Austin Daye and add about 20 pounds,Only Battier and Pietrus can play ELITE D and shoot 3's

If we could find anyone to talk Williams deal off our hands, I'd love to sign Battier. That's just dreaming. We don't need Marvin to play great, but he needs to play consistently well to get anyone interested. As such I've resolved myself to the reality that Marvin is here until he's close to an expiring contract at the earliest. It'd be nice if he spent a summer actually working on really improving his game rather than taking classes and just trying to stay in shape. I say that thinking that if he really worked on his game something would improve on the court.

Geaux Hawks, you really have a man-crush on Beasley, don't you? Seems like you've made comments on trade "possibilities" with Beasley in many Topics. Anyways, I really don't think he can be had that easily. He's barely starting to fulfill his potential, and Minnesota absolutely robbed him from the Heat last summer. They're not letting him go.

Yeah man I do have that crush you speak of..LOL!! I watched this guy play at AAU tourney's,KSU, and a few pro games and just like you said, his potential has barely been scratched.just imagine if he plays with more IQ and draw more fouls and gets on a team that can play some D.Minny robbed him for sure.I think a scorer at SF of Beasley magnitude would be amazing for the Hawks. Minny has to many SF/PF guys,so besides Love and Randolph, somebody is going to be moved and Atlanta needs to on somebody like Beasley, since the Wolves just drafted Wesley Johnson, but maybe will just keep both.

Wesley Johnson and Josh Smith in transition

If Minnesota goes Derrick Williams or Perry Jones this draft,I say we go after Johnson or Beasley. Beasley is the offensive beast who can get into transition as well, and could stride with Josh at the 4.Wesley can get out in transition faster and plays better D, and is still young to work with.
Trade Kaman for Marvin and we have a nice team to work with.
