what do you all think about Marvin Williams trade for Yi Jianlian? I think he could be good next to Horford and Smoove.

if their is anyway the Hawks can trade Marvin's contract for Yi's contract, the Hawks should jump all over it as soon as possible!!!!! talent wise, i love Yi, but just like Tskitishvili and Oden, the injuries take away alot and makes him into a scrub. their is always hope that the injury bug will go away and he will all of a sudden become an iron man, but it is extremely and highly unlikely

Oden has been hurt but was actually good at rebounding and blocking shots when he got on the court.

Yi was an overhyped Wang Zhi Zhi.

Yi in Milwaukee looked just as good as Dirk in his rookie season, but after his knee injury, he just looks flat out bad, and you could see that when he was in New Jersey, he was favoring his knee, and he wasn't putting the ball on the floor, he wasn't trying to create, he was just standing and shooting over people, and even stop running on the breaks.

besides that, the Hawks would be crazy not to accept a trade of Yi's contract for Marvin's contract.

Yeah I liked Yi when he was in Milwaukee, the Hawks would be foolish not to accept.I thought he would have been included with the Hinrich deal with Armstrong..

Yeah? Well you think he would get more PT behind Horford and Smith? And that he would be less injured?

Bottom feeders generally tend to give more opportunities to young guns and players with potential. That's the only thing that Yi has: potential. Nothing else. Still, if the Wiz do not give the opportunity to develop it, you can deduct that he's not worth it. Ask the Wiz fans...

"As good as Dirk" as a rookie doesn't really mean much cosndiering Dirk didn't have a great rookie year. It's like saying that Jeff Teague did as well as Steve Nash as a rookie.

So "better than Marvin" has lowered to "better than Collins and Etan and Zaza". Atleast we have gotten to the point where he's being compared to other scrubs instead of Dirk.

You or HoopsGuru are prob better than Etan Thomas.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

He is better than Marvin too!! but nowhere near the level of Dirk. He does defend and he won't miss a layup like marvin and he shots a higher percentage than marvin too, and he is 7 feet tall. he is just not a star he would be a good Center with someone like Horford in the front court with him. he does block shots, is good around the basket with some ok low post moves, he could rebound better, but he is decent. plan and simple he would be a up grade to the 7 footers we have. and he should come cheap. all we would need is a replacement for Marvin.

plus atlanta has a huge Asian population, so he would put some butts in the stands and make atlanta some money. then maybe they could afford to spent some $$$$ on a big time free agent. hint. hint. dwight howard!!!!!!
