Game Thread: Hawks vs. Lakers

I hope I am not stealing somebody's job of making game threads.
the last 2 times the Lakers were here at the Highlight Factory...

we beat them in 2008 too... but I couldn't find a highlight.

Lakers favored to win by 3.5.
I expect the Hawks to come out with lots of energy since we are playing the hottest team in the NBA. If you go to the game tomorrow, expect to see lots of Kobe fans... they better not chant MVP. It's sad to see people cheering for other teams in Atlanta. You can expect the "big" line up tomorrow. I hate seeing Twin start... I wish we would just start Zaza.
I hope we pull this out tomorrow. We have been successful against the Lakers in Phillips arena the last 3 years. Lets hope the streak continues.
GO HAWKS!

The team has a tendency to get up for the Lakers at home, but the Lakers are coming in very hot. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll be looking ahead to their Thursday with the Heat.

Thanks for offering but it's all right I can listen to the audio but the video isn't keeping up. It's too bad the Hawks aren't a western team. Orlando is the only team I think that has Hawks number.

Josh is getting quite enamored with the 3. I think we might make a game out of this one in the 2nd half. Lakers shot 57% in the first half so i know they cant keep that pace up. I hope they cant keep that pace up.

It depends on how many gifts the refs decided to give Kobe and the Lakers.

well, we tried. Geezus, i think its time for one of them "players only" meetings. Joe looking listless out there on the floor. You really cant blame one player but when its your highest paid player stinkin it up, its very noticeable. You know what might be good?? To hear Coach Drew come to the post game interview and say, "Number 2 was crying after the game."

Joe can't shoot anymore. Is he hurt?
Smoove won't drive... and where is his POST UP when Kobe is covering him?
Marvelous has given up. His flat shot is back - I think he does it because he's scared and trying to GUIDE the ball in, rather than let it roll off his fingers and fly.
On the other hand: Horford looked emancipated when Zaza took over the Center duties.
Hinrich, while not a star, is a nice player. He's a keeper until Teague grows up.
Zaza was a man.
Damien is a true vet.
And Teague is a blur. He's got the chance to grow into a really good PG.
Short of it: we're too small, the players know it and have given up on the season.
What is wrong with Joe? We'd be no worse off benching him and playing Marvelous at SG -- and that's not a compliment to MW.

Joe was shooting the 3 at 37% last year and now shoots it at 29%,his elbow has to still be bothering him

If you have a losing streak and no one notices did it really happen?

This is coming from a guy who has owned Joe Johnson for the past 3 years in a fantasy league.
I keep tabs on my players, and watch plenty of games over the season to see progress or regression.
Joe Johnson was fantastic in January, but aside from that, he has been awful. His shooting percentages have all dipped since January, and he just seems content to seeing this team go through the motions. He doesn't have the burning desire, as other 'franchise players' do or killing instinct. This team would be nowhere without Al Horford. He is a rock, and someone to build around. It's really, really sad how grossly overpaid Johnson, something which will handcuff this organization for years to come.
I like what Hinrich brings (great addition), Horford's hustle and passion for the game, but other than that, the entire team is flawed. Josh Smith has the basketball IQ of a nut. He keeps on jacking up shots (much like Joe) from deep, when they're clearly not shooting it well from out there. Not only that, it angers me whenever Josh brings the ball up (1 on 5) thinking he is a PG. Give the ball UP to your PG after getting a rebound!
ISO Joe can take this team so far. It's time he learns how to take the ball to the basket and create fouls. With his skill-set, it's mind-boggling how many free throw attempts/game he gets.
The Hawks can be an exciting team to watch, but it's far from an elite team. It's competitive enough, but not good enough to beat the Boston's or Orlando's in the playoffs.

I actually think they might be able to beat Boston despite Boston'sHCA. Didn't the Hawks sweep last season's series. Though, Krstic and Green are starting to prove their worth...
I think they can take CHI too (barring the refs superstar calls) but I dont think they can take ORL or NYK
