So what are the chances the Hawks can get one of them or maybe even both

Slim to none as long as the ASG own the team.

A phone call should have already been made to New Orleans to see what the NBA would want for Chris Paul.

I'd say 0 percent on Dwight and a very slim chance at Paul or Deron.

I posted this a few days ago but I can't find it now (here, that is). Maybe that's why no one saw it. Orlando Ledbetter says:
Blog Crossover, watched the NCAA games with Mike C. He’s getting ready for a long offseason. I’ve heard D. Howard and CP3 want to come here, but the Hawks don’t have any cash left.

Until someone else buys the Hawks it isn't even worth spending the time daydreaming about free agents.

So, Chris Paul apparently would be open to joining Charlotte. If that happened it would be another slap in the face. I think Chris is just being nice when answering questions from the media because highly doubt he'd actually be open to playing for the Bobcats.

No that was just media twisting his words.

CP3's Original wish list
1) Orlando (Dwight)
2) Dallas (he obviously envisions himself as a PG for other talented teams, see Rondo comments )
upgrade from J-Kidd
3) Portland (this was before injury concerns to Roy; but Aldridge improved and Charlotte ironically gave up there best player as well as the perfect defensive complement to Roy)
4) New York (could still take Billups place)

Dwight could end up in New Jersey with Deron, or in New York via trade.
Basically Chris's options are playing with Dwight (NJ, NYK,ORL), then there is Portland, Dallas, or in an alternative reality a non-cash-strapped Atlanta franchise.

Maybe the Hornets struggle next year....trade Paul to the highest bidder and he actually enjoys the city he's traded to(Atlanta,Clippers,Houston,Portland, etc?) and ends up signing with them during that summer.

Orlando would never trade Dwight mid-season so the options are more limited. Mazybe alot changes with the new CBA but max contract players(guys who EVERYONE would pay the max for) usually get to go where they want to(via sign and trade) watch they hit unrestricted free agent and I doubt Dwight wants to play for a franchise like this.

As currently constructed the Hawks lack the money... But Deron Williams is available and Hawks as currently constructed will still have to give up some salary.

^^I been thinking this for the longest.

Dwight will stay in Orlando until he feels like it's not worth being there anymore. Him and Paul have both said they wouldn't mind coming to Atlanta though, which I think they will look to do, but only if Joe is gone and maybe Teague, Horford, and Smith are left on the team. Paul alone might actually consider coming without Dwight.

If JJ is traded for expiring contracts and they don't resign Crawford and Hinrich we'll have about 21 million in cap space. Paul might want to be traded a deal of Horford Marvin Teague and picks might be a good deal. Trade JJ for a sf and a center we'll probably be good for 45 to 50 wins next year and then Dwight in the summer.

This can't be a serious topic, everybody in the world knows the Hawks are not going to get neither player, or any superstar for that matter.

Atlanta will make Dwight's short list of team he will want to go to. If the Hawks are willing to sign Joe to a ridiculously huge contract, then they will have no problems at giving Dwight the money he deserves

I wish I lived in make-believe land with the rest of you guys that believe we can somehow divest ourselves of Joe, Marvin, and Zaza for pure capspace by the time Dwight and CP3 hit FA.

This is the same board where a "Joe for Dwyane Wade" proposal was made and a "Marvin and Zaza for Lebron sign and trade" proposal was made. People are already assuming that Dwight wants to leave Orlando...but that he also would prefer going to the Hawks(a team with no true star player, history of contention,or spending money)over every other team who would offer him the same amount of money in a sign and trade(which is the only way he would leave).

Probably proposed by the same person.

The argument that Dwight wants to come here is because Josh Smith is here. I find it all amusing and won't believe Dwight will want to be a Hawk until I hear him say it himself.
