If the Atlanta Hawks played
Smith vs Deng,
Horford vs Boozer/Noah
Collins/Pachulia vs Noah/Asik etc
and only played speed lineup in spurts ie the first round lineups
Wouldn't Marvin's shots go to people more deserving?
Wouldn't Deng guard Smith and leave Johnson to go against Bogans, Brewer and Korver?
Wouldn't Smith be like Gerald Wallace and crash boards more?
wouldn't we get in transition more?
Wouldn't Horford and Smith draw doubles?
If you can’t rebound, you will not win many ball games. We all talk about what makes a good scorer, defender, passer but what makes a good rebounder?
I'm sick of being a jump shooting team.

I liked it against Orlando where everyone was crashing boards and getting fouled posting up. We go up against the best rebounding #1 seed and we go small I really don't know what to say.
Hawks should be 2-0 right now and I'm sad that fans don't expect more from the Hawks. We have an efficient surprise in Teague yet we make him share the ball in a gimmick offense and worse defense
At any rate Horf is not getting to the line and Josh Smith is not going to consistently rebound against bigger guys and beat the bulls. smh there r so many problems with this lineup.

No,Atlanta should be just where they are at 1-1.The Bulls are a team built on defense and Derrick Rose.Thibideau doesnt teach much offense.Look at their games this year, they rarely blow out teams, they grind them int the ground.I watched all their games.Defense, rebounding and Rose.

On every rebound, CHI had 3-4 guys fighting for the ball and we (usually) only had ONE. Understandably, we were manhandled. I guess we gave up on offensive rebounds because we were worried about getting back on defense but, for the life of me, I cannot understand why we weren't in there for defensive rebounds.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Josh and Marvin actually had 3 more offensive rebounds than they had last game. Why? Because the shots were going in last game.
The defensive rebounds? We were there but you said it yourself we were manhandled, pushed out the way, outphysicaled.
We are making a war out of a battle. By going small again Al Horford has become our Dwight Howard and Josh Smith our Brandon Bass/Ryan Anderson. Smith's rebound percentage went up when we played Twin Towers.
At the very least coaches need to throw in different lineups to confuse opponents.
And why should Luol Deng be guarding Joe all game, mover Smith and Horford up a slot and I bet we get Korver or Bogans on Smith or Horford.
This game is easily winnable we lull them to sleep with our big lineup and then we go for the kill with our scoring lineup. Rose is not 100%, cannot beat us by himself no matter what lineup we play and we are still finding ways to get into foul trouble and ultimately lose. The 1st game hot shooting was great but come on.
in both games Rose has both a lesser ORtg and DRtg than Teague

Part of the problem with going big is Jamal. Drew is committed to playing Jamal, Joe, Smoove and Horford. To get Collins/Zaza into the game, we have to defend Rose with Jamal. To get Collins/Zaza in with Teague, we have to sit one of the "big 4" and Drew won't do that for very long. Personally, I think we're going to have to make Joe and Jamal share the SG spot, at least for most of the time because we need size down low and we need Teague's speed.
I'd like for Drew to experiment with Collins/Zaza at 5, then Horford and Smoove at the forwards, Marvelous at SG and Joe at point - just for 5-10 minutes - to help with the size advantage CHI has. Crazy, I know, but Joe has shown the ability to defend Rose for short periods. But Drew would have to couple this with a decision to have everyone crash the defensive boards, which is almost the opposite of what we're now doing.
We could pound THEM for a little while and then switch to the faster lineup the rest of the time.

Joe has shown the ability to defend Rose for short periods. BUT I think Teague has earned the starting position whatever draws doubles and helps but idk. I wouldnt go that radical. it would drain the bench.

agreed with most except starting Marvin
he is optimally firepower off of the bench
Jeff Teague had 21 POINTS last night and we lost.
Josh Smith had 6 rebounds in both games. Drew's plan did not work only thing was we hit shots.
Bulls are not going to let Craw and Joe beat us again.

Didn't want to start a new tread, Do you guys think it a all possable to get Nene Hilario on this team without trading Josh,Al, or Teague? I know he can opt out of his last year... Dude is a BEAST that no one talks about and can run the floor.

Re: Twin-Towers
we won't have enough $ to keep Crawford as is
and no one seems to want Marvin Williams for a center
This is this last groups final hurrah if Larry Drew or whoevers calling the lineups/rotations doesn't make adjustments.
P.S. why do they feel that Damien Wilkins should suit up and play the 3 before Josh? Is it nepotism or what? this ineptitude is incredibly hard to watch.

Re: Twin-Towers
Anthony Tolliver? Can hit the 3 ball, rebound, and hustle while guarding opposing bigs fairly well and allow for Smith to post-up against SFs and help weak-side, while Tolliver sits at the 3 point-line. Try to cover Josh with a PF and he can drive right by him and kick out to Tolliver as the defense collapses. It's not ideal against Orlando but the Hawks have them figured out to begin with so it doesn't really matter.

Re: Twin-Towers
Anyone else think this was our last time beating Orlando/Dwight?
he may be on a new team or he might get a shooting guard etc
I think this was the last opportunity
