the Hawks need some rough rugged bigs and wings. I say just bring some free agents if we can't trade Marvin Williams for a big.
Deshawn Stevenson, Kris Himphries, Chuck Hayes, Leon Powe, and Ike Diogu. I would love to get one of either Marc Gasol, DeAndre Jordan or Dalembert. If we can't get one of them go after Kaman.
what about a Marvin Williams and Etan Thomas for Marreese Speights and Andres Nocioni...
Kirk / Teague or Teague / Kirk
JJ / JC1
Smoove / Nocioni
Horford / Hayes or Powe
Nazr Mohammed / Speights
Zaza
Willins

Re: time to make some major changes
its not the offseason yet and the Orlando series lineups were
* great rebounding
* did not foul too much defensively
* was harder to pull Josh Smith away from the basket.
Hawks went to the small lineup against Orlando and get Beat on on the boards. Lose
Hawks went to the normal lineup and beat Orlando on the boards. Win
Hawks went to the normal lineup and we beat Chicago on the boards. Win

Dwight Howard gave us 46 on a big lineup and we win.
Derrick Rose and the Bulls were on pace to score 154 points with 100 possessions and we want to stick to the small lineup?
Can Hawks really be that dense?

Re: time to make some major changes
I think - in the playoffs - that refs let the teams pound each other more. With the 3 guard offense we run, we're at a huge disadvantage. I know Drew's offense runs better with a sweet-shooting PG but we have the players we have.
Round Jamal will never fit into that square PG slot.
Again, I hate how we seem to give up when we know we're outmanned. I'd love to see the fight we (finally!) showed in the 4th, even though it was short-lived.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Everybody STILL think taking on 1 or 2 of MIL's bad contracts (say Gooden/Salmons) in order to get Bogut is a bad idea?

How are we outmanned? Coaching staff? on the boards?
with Teague Smith and Horford running the break and posting up we draw fouls and win. We can't do that if we don't force bad shots and have Josh at the power forward.
The power forward is responsible for rebounding the SF is responsible for running.
Now would you rather have Smith rebounding pushing the ball and outletting to Marvin? or Horford rebounding and outletting to Smith on the wing.
I don't know about you but I think I'd rather trust Smith on the break. Smith is one of the only guys who can catch the ball with a foot head start on the wing and turn the corner for a dunk, stutter step and spin, attack the rim for a high percentage layup off the glass, a dunk or a foul.
The others are Lebron James, Andre Iguodala, Carmelo Anthony with his stutter step and spin.
Guess how many of them play power forward?
Hawks are cheating themselves by playing Smith at the 4. If we had Lebron it would work but as is current NBA we need production from the SF and PF.
Magic had near 50 points against us but no SF or PF production.
Lakers have no SF production, that is no one getting to the foul line.
Lets entertain this theory that Josh and Horford are "All Stars" and that means they can score every time in the paint.
Do you really think that Thibodeau is double teaming Horford or Smith?
or are they doing EXACTLY what WE did to ORLANDO, is Chicago sitting on all our three point shooters and letting our Horford and Smith go to work??
The answer is yes. Just like Orlando, our offensive system is flawed.
If Orlando didn't have a bunch of Marvin Williams surrounding Dwight and instead had another center or power forward next to him to offensive rebound Orlando could have shot any shot they wanted and just blew us out on offensive rebounds.
JJ forcing the issue is just like Dwight forcing the issue with us. As long as they win the battle of the rebounds Hawks are done. Not even Dwight Howard reached 20 offensive boards until the 5th game. Joakim will reach it next game.

for Marvin Williams? because Josh at PF is just like Dwight Howard. You single cover him and he won't beat you.
If Horford was guarding Dwight Hawks all game long we would have lost. Boozer and Noah and Rose must think the Hawks are mentally (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to go back to their old ways and away from the defensive lineup.
