Rumored Iguodala for Memphis Rudy Gay

Post#1 » by geeman » Sun May 8, 2011 8:47 pm

This Rumor if true may mean they maybe willing to move OJ Mayo. I been watching his play and believe he could become a more complete replacement for J Crawford. Also, OJ, Jeff, Pape & Kirk could let us
move Joe's (  ) contract.

Change in Team Outlook: +5.3 ppg, -1.4 rpg, and +1.2 apg.
Incoming Players
O.J. Mayo
23.5 year old , 6-4, 210 lb G from USC
11.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.0 apg in 26.3 minutes
Xavier Henry
20 year old , 6-6, 220 lb G from Kansas
4.3 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 0.5 apg in 13.9 minutes
Outgoing Players
Marvin Williams
24.5 year old , 6-9, 230 lb F from North Carolina
10.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.4 apg in 28.7 minutes

They play better with Battier, who is a glue guy and good 3 pt. shooter. Gay is wonderfully talented but sometimes forgets where his team's bread is buttered: the 2 big men down low, especially Randolph. Plus, Mayo's been disappointing. Iguodala would greatly improve their athleticism.

It's an interesting prospect for MEM. For PHI, it's simple: open space for Turner and replace a super-athletic SG with a super-athletic SF.

Shoot me. NOW
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

I actually watched Hamed in the WBC and he looked good, even against the USA. He averaged 20 PPG(although he got like 20 FGA), 8.8 RPG, and 2.8 BPG. 7'2 265 looks damn good despite him being slow. Not saying he should just come in and be a legit starter, but he ain't that bad of a player. Great rebounder & shot blocker if not nothing else.

Mayo can just replace Crawford if he gets to expensive. Same skill set player, maybe even better scorer. I think he can play some back up point as well and distribute better than Crawford.

Marvin isn't getting anyone right now. I could stop there but I won't. Hamed is tall, but hasn't adjusted to the speed of the NBA and likely never will. I think Mayo's play has earned him a re-up in Memphis. I don't think the Gay/Iguodala rumor has any real impact on his situation.
