Jazz Open to Trading Milsap, Harris?

(Question) Do you see any draft night trades happening??

(Answer) Chad Ford

I think there will be a bunch. Teams are telling me that trade talk really started picking up on Tuesday. Cavs are looking at potential deals using the No. 4 pick and either Baron Davis or Ramon Sessions. Jazz looking for deals. Would be open to discussing Paul Milsap or Devin Harris. Wizards looking to add talent around John Wall. Pistons are being active. Rockets have been very aggressive (as they often are). Bucks have made draft day trades past 2 years and are being aggressive again. (Question) Do you see any draft night trades happening??

The Jazz are most likely going to draft Brandon Knight. Jeff Teague most likely won't interest them, but if Utah is interested in unload salary, we could offer Kirk Hinrich, and a future first.

Devin Harris: $9,319,000, $8,500,000

Jeff Teague emerged during the playoffs, so I have confidence in him going into next season, but I expect him to hit a wall fast. I think he only has so much upside, so I support acquiring Devin Harris, but only in the right circumstances.

I say no to Harris. Hinrich offers us shooting and defense, two things Devin has been inconsistent with over his career and there's the issue of his contract for this team. I'm willing to give Teague a chance and he does offer the one thing that Harris is best know for which is penetration.

I'm not offering a first on top of Hinrich for Harris, and TBQH if we're trading for Harris we might as well ship out Teague as well, because they're similar players, and Teague won't be getting any development time.

I think that would be the ideal situation if we acquired Devin Harris.

I'm all for staying the course with Jeff Teague. I just wanted to create a discussions since Devin Harris has been mentioned on this board a number of times. One of my biggest problems with Devin Harris is his turnovers.

Now if we could turn Hinrich, Teague and Marvin into Harris and Millsap, well I'd be rather interested in that deal. Finally have a decent backup PF who could also give us trade options with our other 2 guys and a scoring PG.

Added to the fact that we would have Teague who at this moment did not show us any 3pt range, and that Harris proved he can't hit a 3, I would certainly not doing this deal.
Better keep Hinrich for sure.

If we had to trade for tha kind of PG, I would be ready to gamble on Sessions who has the same problem than Harris but cost half of his salary, but in the end, Sessions or Harris would bring us the need to get a SF who can consistently hit 3's. If only our SG can it 3's, we are dead.
