hahahahah, i can see why Orlando would love this deal, they get the two best players in the list of players.

1. Josh Smith - PF from Atlanta
2. Devin Harris - PG from Utah
3. Paul Millsap - PF from Utah
4. Jameer Nelson - PG from Orlando
5. Kirk Hinrich - G from Atl
6. Brandon Bass - PF from Orlando
7. Chris Duhon - PG from Orlando
8. JJ Reddick - SG from Orlando

Smith > Millsap
Teague and Hinrich > Jameer and Duhon

And Josh Smith desperately wants out of ATL and Utah. is trying to deal Devil so its a win win, ATL adds more toughness they need down low and 2 true PGs who can also be dangled as trade parts as well if need be, and Utah gets some shooters which is what they need

It makes zero sense for Atlanta and Utah. Orlando benefits completely!

Josh Smith desperately wants out of Atlanta? I think Dwight Howard would much rather be out of Orlando and that Josh Smith is content being a Hawk. Your proposal basically keeps Dwight Howard in Atlanta.

please find me one quote where Josh Smith says he "desperately" wants out of Atlanta

i think you are another one of the thousands of bloggers who made up the story that Josh Smith and Atlanta have a bad relationship and hate each other.

just because Josh has the most trade value and Hawks need a 7 footer, doesn't tranlate into the Hawks desperately trying to trade Josh for a 6'6 PF, or Hawks and Josh having a bad relationship.

Please, you know, it's right beside the quotes saying Dwight Howard desperately wants to out of Orlando, preferably to LA or NJ.
Come on, don't you read the boards?

I have friends who are players, coaches and agents...he wants out, he was even upset when none of the 2 or 3 different trades that teams proposed for him got rejected on draft night by ATL brass, I am told the closest one to going through was a 3 team trade involving Orl and Portland and it would've brought Gerald Wallace to ATL and sent horford to Portland and I forget who else but Josh heard from his agent that it was almost done and called Dwight and told him to call Otis and tell him thank you and at the last minute it fell through

What's crazy is Orl wanted Josh obviously for the camaraderie with Howard and Portlands 1st rd pick to get Justin Harper and Orl still ended up with Harper (TY DA Cleveland), no Josh Smith though

And you guys chill out its just in fun

I don't believe you, you need more people. Why would the Hawks give up Josh and Al, that's just stupid but hey Sund is the GM

Even if this is true, which I doubt, I wouldn't blame Atlanta brass for rejecting those deals. If Atlanta gives up Horford and Josh Smith and the best player they get back in Gerald Wallace, something is wrong.

How is it a win for Atlanta? Of course it is a win for Orlando, they turn Nelson, Duhon, Bass, and Reddick into 2 much, much better players in Smith and Harris.

For Atlanta, they deal is bad. It doesn't solve the problem of having 2 PF's and bringing in Millsap means Horford is stuck at center where he doesn't want to do, So overall it is a downgrade (I would rather have Smith's ability to play both Forwards). As for the Hinrich/Nelson deal, gimme Hinrich and it isn't even close. I am not sure the fascination in any Orlando/Atlanta deal of giving the Hawks Jameer. Jameer showed his age this past year and especially in the playoffs. Hinrich played great defense on him and he only got his points when guarded by Crawford. I will take Hinrich, his defense, and his ability to play either guard position over Nelson, especially with a good, young pg in Teague developing.

Sund may not be the brightest GM but he's no Otis Smith.

From Hawks beat writer Michael Cunningham's blog:

Josh Smith is aware of the trade speculation swirling around him. He knows much of that speculation is fueled by the belief that he desperately wants out of Atlanta.

But Smith said today he’s not eager to be traded, though he’s bracing for the possibility.

“I’m not saying I want [a trade] to happen but if it does I will just have to deal with it,” he said.

Obviously, we can ignore what MC and Josh Smith say, because JRich23MagicMan is friends with players, coaches, AND agents.

Btw, ask your agent friends about your proposed trade. They'll say the same thing as everyone here: how do the Magic turn their garbage into Josh Smith and Devin Harris?

If the Magic get Josh then Dwight will resign, I as a Hawks fan don't want to see D12 in Magic pinstripes. If anything I would try to use Josh to lure Dwight to Atlanta, and if it doesn't work at least Dwight won't be in our division. And no matter how delusional they are, Magic fans need to realize that Dwight won't resign cause he has no chance at a championship in Orlando, without D12 the Magic suck.

Where the hell do you think that initial trade talk came from and why the rumors started that he wants to be traded because he isn't happy, that's how rumors start. There is always truth regardless of WHAT the players say, I don't care about that, every player is gonna say the same "I didn't ask to be traded" or "I don't want to be traded" etc in case nothing happens so the bond with the team won't be tattered. It doesn't really matter now since nothing got approved. The deal that almost went through was more than Gerald Wallace to ATL it had several components and players, another thing in ATL's favor that they wanted was more picks in the draft, so like I said there were multiple pieces gonna be moved. I agree ATL knows Josh is a huge trade piece and will not take anything less that will not help them win, and LoL I agree with you guys saying ATL's GM is not NEARLY as bad as Otis LoL

Right... We should disconsider what Smoove and MC have said (Smoove's not eager to be traded), and believe what they DIDN'T say at all (Smoove is "desperate" to leave).

 Really logic!

You're still here? Look, if you want people to believe you're "plugged in" to the NBA, at least make your stories realistic.

First of all, given that the Hawks readily traded their 1st round pick in the Kirk Hinrich deal, why would the Hawks have any interest in picks in the historically weak 2011 NBA draft? If they thought so highly of this year's draft they would have kept their own pick.

Second, there is NO way the Hawks would trade Josh Smith and Al Horford, the most talented young frontcourt in the league, for the Magic's overpaid bench players, Gerald Wallace, and late first round pick(s).

Third, you can ignore the Hawks' reputable beat writer and Josh Smith himself if you want, but he is not desperate to be traded. All the "reports" that surfaced were based on the original article from Adrian Wojnarowski, in which Woj said:

Smith hasn’t requested a trade, but has privately told league friends that the Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic are his preferred destinations should the Hawks decide to move him.

Bloggers took that article and ran with it.

Now stop trolling.
