Lets hope

I don't think this lockout is the worst thing in the world, I actually think that no NBA season would be a blessing in disguise. Why? Because of the draft of course. If there was an NBA season the Hawks would claim a top 4 or 5 spot in the east, maybe get out of the first round, and fall flat on their faces in the second round as always. What would that get us? A draft pick in the 20s, if there's no season then we actually have a legit chance at a top 10 pick in a loaded draft. :D. I actually wouldn't mind throwing the season for a lotto pick if there was a season. As a bonus they might let us use the Amnesty cause on Marvin.

Hm. We humans only have a number of years to live and enjoy life. I for one ain't willing to see the Hawks throw away a season so they can draft a potential bust.

All we need to win it all is a decent SF and a deeper bench. Maybe a real coach. Hopefully we could have both by making the right deals. Drafting is not the way to go IMO.

Don't really think the lockout can be any sort of blessing in disguise.

The Amnesty never removed a salary, it was just that if your team was, for example, 10M over the Tax threshold, if you cut a 8M player, you pay only 2M of Tax instead of 10M, but you still pay the salary of the player.

In both cases, you have 80M of salaries, without Amnesty, you paid 90M including Tax, with the Amnesty you 82M.

If ATL has 69M of salaries, cutting Marvin with Amnesty would just free a roster spot, you wouldn't go down to 61M, you would still have 69M of salaries, so what's the point ?

I'm saying we'll have a chance at a top 10, we wont end up in the lotto if we do play out a season. But thanks for everyones feedback its really made me think
