Would you send Hinrich and our 2012 first rounder to Charlotte for DJ Augustin? Frees up a lot of cap space.

I don't like his fit but considering that the Bobcats got Kemba as, let's not kid ourselves, a replacement I'm sure his asking price will be much much lower.

I am not calling you silly just that trade suggestion.
We need to be looking for the following in order:
A. A starting level Center
B. Depth, meaning if we can't get a starting level deal we need to be doing 2 for 1 deals for a player like Hinrich who is expiring and has a bloated rep for what he really gives you on the court.

In conjunction with B, what do you think about a Nikola Pekovich & Wayne Ellington deal for Marvin, with Ridnour going to LAL for Devin Ebanks to Atlanta. Marvin goes to Detroit and Ben Gordon goes to Minnesota.
Gives us depth on the wing and a center that can score. Ellington has a niche as a 3 point shooter, Ebanks has a good amount of potential, and Pekovich can score the ball on the inside very well.

I like Ebanks and I like Ellington as that niche guy that you speak of because we currently don't have a "knockdown shooter" on the team. I think Ebanks can be better than Marvin, not saying much but he isn't getting paid much either. I would much rather get Anthony Randolph and Wayne Ellington from the Wolves though. I just don't see how they are going to play Beasley, Derrick Williams, Kevin Love, and Randolph, someone is odd man out and all are too young and talented to be sitting on the bench not getting a chance.

I like Randolph also, but fear the Wolves will ask for more than they paid like they will do Beasely..

That's not good value for us.
The only deal I would do for Hinrich would have to involve Randolph and I would still want one of Darko or Pek, plus Ellington.

Would you guys do a deal of Nelson JJ and Anderson for Joe Johnson or Turk Redick and Anderson for Johnson?
The first deal allows you guys to move Hinrich and gives you capspace bc Redick is contract expires in 2012 plus a young PF to play along side Horford when he moves to C.
The second deal just gives you guys capspace and a young PF

no I don't like it, Joe is a great player, our best and despite his huge contract he's still our best. And Nelson Redick and Anderson aren't worth it, that not only would give the Magic some serious firepower but it would persuade Dwight to stay, and no ATL fan wants that.

Maybe it's just me but after missing out on Dwight in the draft and the playoff beatdown the last thing I want is to be directly responsible for making Orlando better. I'm sure Sund feels the same after Otis stole Orton from him too

No way the Pistons give up Ben Gordon for Marvin Williams...The Pistons have already been rumored to be interested in trading for Beasley whenever the season starts...

What type of return are you expecting from Detroit?

You might want to check with Minny fans on that one.. from what I hear, they wouldn't even take Gordon for Pekovich, Ridnour, and Ellington..

Greg Monroe and recently drafted Brandon Knight are basically the only young assets Detroit has. Minnesota currently has no one that makes over $7 million per season, so am I really suppose to believe that David Kahn is going to be open to adding the $38 million that's owed to Ben Gordon?

Austin Daye, Jonas Jerebko, Terrico White are all assets...I'm just going off the rumor...Ben Gordon was never involved into the trade, but Rip Hamilton, Daye or a Piston draft pick was involved...

I personally think that Detroit would do a Marvin for Gordon trade straight up at this point without question. Saves them over twelve million and reduces their glut of combo guards while adding a SF to their deficient depth. Problem is that the Hawks wouldn't for a myriad of reasons.
