Chris Paul Wish List (NY & LAC, Maybe Atlanta?)

The Atlanta Hawks are another team that could offer New Orleans an enticing package of say, Marvin Williams and Jeff Teague. It’s not known whether Paul would consider signing an extension with the Hawks but he is known to be fond of the city of Atlanta. Link

Chris Broussard considers that enticing?

Why the . because of contracts Hawks options with Smith and Horford are slim to none. journalists need to say things like this before reality comes into focus and the state of ATL becomes absolutely depressing.

Josh Smith actually has an extremely favorable contract. Only Joe and Marvin have a terrible contract.

Jeff Teague is extremely good value, Marvin is terrible value. But at least he got info on what we already knew, CP3 likes Atlanta a lot.

According to Ric Bucher, Rondo won't be enough or a package surrounding him. I think we'd have to do something that involves both Josh Smith and Jeff Teague. Draft pick considerations would possibly be needed.

Ric Bucher: From what I've heard: Celtics might want to deal Rondo for CP3, but Hornets are not doing that deal. Have better offers if it comes to that. Twitter

Will the Hornets do any deal right now while they are owned by the league? I'd assume that a franchise point guard helps the ultimate sale price on the team as such I think they will be very cautious in any trades while the team is under league stewardship.

Paul is considered as good as gone in just a year so prospective buyers wouldn't factor him anyway or would be fools to purchase the franchise expecting him to be a major cog. If the Hornets can reduce salary commitments and receive prospects and picks for him they would be more attractive than watching him walk for nada and still be stuck with their other big contracts.

Chris Paul requests trade to N.Y.

Chris Paul’s agent informed New Orleans Hornets officials on Wednesday that his client will not sign a contract extension and wants to be traded to the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
More From Yahoo! Sports Staff

As soon as the NBA lifts its lockout restrictions, Hornets general manager Dell Demps wants to meet with Paul and hear that directive from him.

Chris Paul requests trade to N.Y.
The Hornets will be motivated to make a deal as soon as possible for Paul, and aren’t completely determined to get a point guard in return for him, sources said. They’re willing to play Jarrett Jack as the starter for the rest of the season, and mostly want to gather the best possible package of overall talent and draft picks.

Maybe we can get in on a 3 way, but there is really nothing that I want from the Knicks or N.O. other than Landry Fields would be better than Marvin. Don't like Okafor because he is not a big C, I don't see New York getting this done without a 3rd team but Josh, Al, Jeff, nor Joe could be let go without getting Paul in the deal.

Wishful thinking probably on my part, but if talks fail with New York, I think we could possibly get in, and a request from Chris Paul won't hurt.

Since chris paul want to leave new orleans why dont the hawks trade for him.

Trade josh smith, jeff teague, marvin williams and 2 1st round picks
For chris paul and trevor ariza.
That will be a good trade for both teams and new york, or lac cannot offer new orleans a better deal.

After that trade we offer kirk and zaza to LAC for chris kaman.
Kaman is not in the clippers furture plans and kirk would be a good fit cause he can check shooting guards and take the defensive pressure of eric gordan.
If i was the gm i would pull these trades of and set atlanta to be an contender and put the fans back in the stand

chicken noodle soup chicken noodle soup chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side

Yeah the above post makes no sense either. You traded 3 out of your 5 starters for 2. Then you traded 2 for 1 for your bench. Do you have any follow up moves?

If talks fall through with the Knicks then he'll probably just wait until next summer to go there.

But a starting 5 of

Paul
JJ
Ariza
Horford
Kaman

and a bench with:

will we have anyone there?

Anyway, we would get 7 players more to completae a roster.

I just would see a problem. What I saw of Teague last season I believe is SO great THAT I even would not trade him for Paul.

I forgot about Horford. That is a good starting 5.

Your last sentence is silly. Except for the fact that contracts dont match up, Paul could still be pissed at ATL (he was ready to get drafted and informed he would be and he got embarassed by....Marvin Williams), Paul is not oblivious to Joe's contract and management blunders and current turmoil , NYK has better versions of Horford vs Amare and Joe vs Carmelo. So he could still bolt. And you'd have to give up a lot for what might be a rental.

I don't see New Orleans wanting anything to do with Marvin. I doubt they would trade us CP3 for Smith and Teague without placing Okafor and his albatross contract in the mix.

I wouldn't go that far. Chris Paul took a mediocre New Orleans team to the playoffs. Jeff Teague scores 21 points three times against Chicago only proves to me that he is capable of starting and that we possibly have our future point. If we have an opportunity to get Chris Paul we must do it.
