Josh Smith supposedly loses 30 pounds Via MC Twitter

MC says that he saw Josh today and Josh says he has lost 30 pounds and he looks much slimmer. For what it's worth, just seems to be doing more than just talking about taking the next step like some other Hawks players. He was also the 1st and only player at the facility. I am skeptical about the 30 pounds thing because I saw a youtube video of him this summer where he looked even bigger but I guess we will see. 30 pounds lighter makes me think he is ready and may have been told that SF is the position he will play mostly this year. Hopefully, if that is the case we are going to get a upgrade over Collins and Zaza at C. :D :D

Its all over peachtree.

For a guy who people say doesn't rely on his athleticism...

There was a lockout. No one told him anything. This is really just him seeing heand he might be traded to somewhere who needs him to play the SF more.

Hawks have no center. Just like Al talking about the Hawks need a center, irregardless of where that leaves Smith or Marvin. Im thinking Smith finally realizes that its either him or Horford. And if its him he cant show up at last years weight and expect any team to want him. They want the young Smith back.

Your thoughts are always muffled with foolishness. I am sure a team like Indy would take the PF Josh Smith over anything they have. New Orleans would take a young PF Josh Smith over David West at PF anyday. You don't make sense most of the times even with all of your stats and videos you lack sensibility. :(

Forcing the hand of the lazy management.

PG Teague
SG Joe
SF Marvin (perimeter)
PF Smoove
C Horford

becomes
PG Teague
SG Joe
SF Smoove (perimeter)
PF Horford
C broken knee Okur?, rookie Benson, Troy Murphy

Yeah right. If Smith recommits his body and being a ball of energy All Star player, loses THIRTY pounds...

If management follows up with has beens like Memo Okur or Troy Murphy. I'm Josh Smith I'm leaving period. they can build on Horford and whatever lowball offer he returns. Im going to play with Dwight.

Indy would take the PF Josh Smith over Tyler Hansbrough. New Orleans would take a 26yo PF Josh Smith over David West at PF.

Do the Hawks want to trade for Hansbrough or David West?? I'm not seeing the sense in bringing them up.

I think the interest is whether teams would give up their centers [b] for Josh Smith.

I heard Glen Davis wanted to come to the A. Could their be a chance that the Hawks will play him at C on defense and just have Josh cover him on the weakside? Davis is a pretty decent post defender.

Big Baby for 3! More jump shots!
Glen Davis wants a pay check. ATL was on his list among about 6 other teams, Denver, NJ, New Orleans, Boston, Orlando, and Detroit.

Josh SMith loses 30 lbs and recommits to basketball and Hawks sign the Celtics fat reject version of Al Horford.

sigh
Whats the luxury situation & how much is he looking for?

Josh Smith looks good in that picture. I saw some clips of him in some of the charity games he played over the last couple months and he looked like he improved his body fat.

I won't be surprised if Coach Drew plays him more at the 3 and goes with a more traditional lineup at times during the season.

I still think we could make some noise with Kwame Brown as our center. especially if one of our other guys take their game to another level...... hopefully two of them will Smoove and Horford. then all we would need is another shooter

traditional lineups defensively. Absolutely. During the postseason, Yup

But regular season? If you are in Drew's shoes you play without shooters what are you going to say? Just try to run block and steal all day because we cant shoot in a halfcourt?

If the product looks bad on offense he says well the defense is great but the offensively we have tweeners. Then the discussion comes to light that either Smiths flaws and Horford are bad complements and need to be traded. And pressure on FO + playing the big lineup. Drew runs the risk of getting fired if he plays big all season and it doesnt work.

Dont think we'll see it. Same old same old Marvin lineups.

Did anyone else show up for the voluntary workout? All the pictures I saw were of Sleek Josh. Was curious about "Bounce Back" Joe, "Surgically Repaired" Marvin, and "Larry Drew Damn Well Better Start Me' Jeff.

Also props to Sleek Josh for being professional and showing up in shape. Bet he worked on his game during the lockout as well. Say what you will about his on court lapses or attitude at times, but Josh works at being a better player.
