http://blogs.ajc.com/hawks/2011/12/08/a ... ent-224570There is still a wait and see approach with Earl Watson but Jason Collins is expected to re-sign. The Bulls sign and trade isn't going to happen most likely and I am happy to see that because without giving up Asik there was no reason for us to go into luxury for what they would offer. It was always a wishy washy situation for Bulls people.
Teague/
Joe/McGrady/Pape
Josh/Marvin/
Al/Rolle/Benson
?/Zaza/Collins
Looks like 11 able bodied men with 2 more technically needed. MC says Brad Wannamaker a unsigned rookie from Pitt will be in camp and since camp is basically practice and 2 games they must want to sign him. He played PG/SG at Pitt. Looks to me we aren't getting any major upgrade which is deflating but expected. More of the same coming up fellas

no we technically need 12 on the team, not 13. And I like Wannamaker I watched him in college he'd be a good addition to the team.

Its seems like the hawks are counting on marvin williams and tracy mcgrady to be their main scorers off the bench. The hawks are not ready to admit to their mistake when they drafted marvin . I believe this is his last year to prove that he can be a good player. I hope tracy can be the player the hawks is expecting him to be. But they still need to add another big man. sign troy murhpy or trade for chris kamen. We need another big body to help out horford and Josh. because the teams around us is getting better and in order to compete we need to make minor improvements too.

Hawks really need to make more moves and more impactful ones. I really would like to see Hinrich gone since he will be out for a while. Minnesota just makes so much sense to me.

I agree with the Twolves making sense. Hinrich is supposedly the "young PG trainer" why not send him to Minny to train Rubio.
Kirk to Minny for any of those 4 C's they have but namely Darko would be good.

Kirk and Marvin for Jamison. Jamison has a expiring contract.

If we are negotiating with Minny, might as well get Ellington and Heyward. That fills the wing with depth, and moves Horford to the 4.
1-Teague/McCamey or Wanamaker
2-Joe/McGrady/Ellington
3-Smith/Marvin/McGrady/Heyward
4-Horford/Smith/Rolle/Benson
5-Darko/Zaza/Benson
13 players and still under the tax.

I don't think Minny gives you all of that for Kirk, just my opinion.
My other opinion. We are really falling apart by not doing anything. The Knicks are now better than us with Tyson Chandler.
Heat
Knicks
Bulls
Possibly Celtics
We are fighting for the 4th spot. We have to do something.

Heyward and Ellington are end of the bench guys for them and if they want to sign some vets to that team, they will need the roster slots.

I still don't think the Knicks are soo much better than us because other then their own "Big 3" they have no role players, but I agree about the Celtics; in my opinion those old players can't survive this shortened season and back to backs and be as effective as they usually are.

What quality depth do we have?
3 Provens
Joe
Josh
Al
1 BIG IF
Jeff
Unreliable Wild Cards
Zaza
Marvin
Tracy
Everything else is filling out the roster. Jason Collins whom I like is really just a teacher and good for very limited situations.
Kirk is out until early February and everytime I look up it seams the date is being pushed back. Horrible trade from day 1.
Where is this quality depth you speak of Landry Fields is just as good as any so-called depth you speak of.

Teague stepped up vs Chicago and I believe he's proven himself, Landry Fields disappeared off the map after Anthony arrived, and we at least have a complete starting unit, and I believe that Marvin will be effective after that much needed back surgery in the off-season, and the Knicks have what 7 players under contract and are planning on exercising their amnesty clause on Billups.

The Knicks without Billups and somewhat Amare to an extent could have beat the Celtics had they had a center. Imagine them with a healthy STAT and Chandler with Douglas, Turiaf, Williams, Fields, Walker all coming off the bench. Also they added Shumpert. Since they are doing a S&T, they still have the MLE.
