What is a acceptable year for Keith Benson? What do you expect from him?

I think he will either be in the D League, get cut, or at the end of the bench. I don't expect anything from him since he could not even stick in some foreign league that I don't even think was one of the better foreign leagues.

maybe 15/8 and 1 block, then in his second year, he has a break out year with 23/12 and 3 blocks, then maybe goes for 31ppg in his third year when he learns the Kareem sky hook and wins the scoring title.

He actually played in the 1st or the 2nd best European basketball league which in itself partly explains why they weren't too patient with him but I expect Solo with better IQ and a jumper. He has to hit the gym more, Dinamo Sassari had him listed at something like 228lbs after you do the conversion from KGs but he has to be at a solid 235 or at least a wiry strong 230 like Garnett to succeed in the post.

Honestly? I would be pretty happy with 6/4/1 in 15-20 MPG and solid defense.

10 mpg 3/4/1. I'd love higher numbers but Drew won't give him the minutes to get through the growing pains. I'm also fine with him getting some run in the D league. I hate how the Hawks haven't used all their avenues to develop young contributors. They only want finished products, but can only pay bottom of the barrel prices. Pape Sy last year was the first sign of this attitude changing, so maybe Benson has a shot as a cheap project to develop into a contributor.

Magnum Rolle should be further along and contribute more.

BTW, the reason I think the Hawks need to develop cheap bigs is illustrated in Kwame Brown signing a 1 year 7M deal. He has horrible hands and questionable dedication, but gets more for a season than even the MLE. Absurd market to land a big man in.

I thought he was a trash bin candidate. $7 million for that.

Exactly, it is insane what some teams are paying bigs. They'll have 19M in Biedrins and Brown next year. Ouch.

I would just be happy with him playing legit Defense and clogging up the Middle, his scoring numbers Don't have to be great but if he can defend and alter shots it would be great for us, that's exactly the type of player we need. It would be a bonus if he would also rebound but I honestly am not expecting any big rebounding numbers.

Looked good defending the rim for the most part in preseason gm 1, but needs to rebound.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
