All Star Ballots (Hawks edition)

Well the all star ballots for each team have been revealed and the Hawks have 4 potential all stars: Josh Smith, Al Horford, Joe Johnson, and Jeff Teague. Now Joe, Al, and Josh were all expected to be on this ballot but man Jeff Teague has appeared as a potential all star and deservedly so; he's been great so far in the season utilizing his speed and playing a major role in all of our wins. Now I'm still a bit shaky about the free throws he missed last night against the bulls but he's still a young player who lets face it isn't a great free throw shooter anyway and there was just too much pressure on him but that's off topic. I think that Marvin Williams should be on that ballot because he's been great this season and at times was our first option on offense; man that back surgery was really helpful as was the lockout for Marvin.

Based on our season sample, Marvin is the most deserving Hawk. I don't know if their ballots are different but it would be hilarious if the coaches vote him in as a reserve.

Marvin is the one deserving, but he would not be named by the coach, because they always choose between players who play a lot.

Marvin has a great PER (he's the 4th SF behind James, Anthony and Durant !!!) and great "Eff per 48" (almost 4th or 5th if you don't count the guy playing only 10min or less in garbage time), but he's not playing enough, and so doesn't have a great Eff.

He deserves to play more with that efficiency, but maybe it won't happen, and maybe he would not be so much efficient with more PT.

Lot of season to go and I think Marvin will get some more minutes as the coaching staff tries to be more careful with TMac's minutes. I can understand Marvin not being on the ballot though because of his uncertainty as a starter. The Hawks were most effective without him in the lineup last post-season. Guess surgical repair should have occurred sooner.
