Well, the SEC and ACC start today that is the big boys and my part of the country.

Marquis Teague- I compared these guys to Jrue Holiday and he is better right now at the same stage when it comes to assist per minute and points per minute. He could really fix his assist to turnover ratio but the same could be said for Holiday at similar stages.

Myck Kabongo- He also fairs favorably to Holiday when it comes to assist and points per minute ratios and he also could really benefit by fixing his turnover to assist ratios just like Teague and Holiday could at similar stages.

Peyton Siva- A little smallish IMO but he is better across the boards when it comes to production than Holiday was and that was true from freshman year until now. He also suffers from turnovers too much.

Aaron Craft- Craft is a heady guy that grades out better than Holiday when it comes to assist and steals at a similar stage. Not sure if he is a Pro player but the pickings are truly thin. He is one of the few that does not suffer from turnovers at a early stage of his career.

Vincent Council- He is possibly a under the radar guy in a major conference. He grades out favorably with assists and points per minute.

You would hate me if I did not mention:

Kendall Marshall- Marshall is really a one-dimensional passer and I have my doubts about him in the Pros but his assist per minute and assist to turnover rates are far superior to anyone's on this list. He almost doubles his competitors on that level.

All of the guys I listed during the pre-conference play with the exception of Council will be in the NCAA tourney.

Teague continued to improve his assist rates and they are superior to Jrue Holiday's one and done rates while the assist to turnover ratio is basically the same. Jrue is slightly better in scoring and rebounding and steals though.

Tyshawn Taylor is a guy I slept on my first list. He has been really good since his sophomore year and is a 4 year player. Could be a really good backup PG. His assists rates have been better than Jrue's 1 and done rates since his sophomore year and he has maintained that. He has always been just as good of a scorer and has maintained it. Jrue rebounding and steals rates are superior though. Taylor's assist to TO rates have not improved though which is a problem.

Peyton Siva continues to have good assist rates but he also continues to battle assist to turnover ratios even as a junior. His rebounding is really good for his size and he has good steals rates. His scoring rates have been good 2 of 3 years. Really just another change of pace type of guy.

Shabazz Napier is another guy with good assist rates and he also has a good assist to turnover ratio as a sophomore. Not sure if he is a pro but he is definitely a tough minded guy that will get some looks whenever he comes out.

Kendall Marshall remains a good assist guy with good to great assist to turnover rates but not sure if he does anything else so well. I think he is the perfect backup PG but he could be much more.

Scott Machado is another guy with good assist rates and good assist to turnover ratios but the assist to turnover ratios came on more as a junior and senior. He scores enough to make it a weapon also. Not a bad second round backup type of look.

Myck Kabongo basically had the same assist to turnover ratio as Teague and Holiday but averaged more assist per minute than either. He really needs to improve in other areas though to keep people honest.

Aaron Craft remains a good assist guy with good assist to turnover ratios and steal rates with a good defensive reputation.

Dee Bost is another guy that has been a good assist guy since arriving on campus as far as rates go but he has never averaged a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio and he is a senior. Might not be a bad 2nd rd choice though.

Ryan Boatright is another guy as a freshman has assist rates comparable to Teague and Holiday and a slightly better assist to turnover ratio and he scores enough plus rebounds well for his size.

I left Wroten and Lillard out because there assist rates say they are combo guards or SG and I will list them with the SG's.

By the way all of these guys have better assist rates than Teague ever had in college.

All that said, the best selection in the 1st rd for the Hawks at PG position would be Kendall Marshall.

The best selection in the 2nd rd for the Hawks at PG would be Scott Machado.

Not opposed to a late 2nd rounder on either Scott Machado or Tyshawn Taylor. I don't think Kendall Marshall (if he comes out) falls to our pick (where currently projected). I'm still seeing the late first in this draft as a good way to acquire length with Fab Melo and Festus Ezeli as possible. The early 2nd could be used for someone like William Buford SG or Mike Scott F to come in and play right away in the rotation as 4 year college players.
